Good Morning Everyone,

Feeling like I'm coming down with something myself. I was asleep last night by 9:30 which is quite early for me and slept like a baby through out the night. I hated getting up but do feel better.

QOTD: This is a great one and I can't wait to read the responses. My husband made a sweet bread for our Three Kings Celebration and it's sitting on the counter right where I fix my coffee. Every damn morning I'm seeing those. He an my daughter had them when he first made them and are just letting them sit there. I would eat all of the rest if I gave in but I'm being strong and staying on CAMAW. I started on Monday and still have not seen a loss... frustrating and frustrated. My calories are up a bit cause I've been hungrier than usual and I been closer to 1000 calories as opposed to 900 so maybe that's it but I'm doing CAMAW so I thought I'd still lose some of the 3 holiday pounds I have left but not yet. GRRRR Would sugarless gum keep the weight on??? Hmmmm been doing a lot of that after meals and snack to get my chewer to stop craving more food.

I salute you and everyone else here who lives with loved ones who don't think twice about leaving tempting tidbits around! It can't be easy!

Hi!

Last night I was able to relax after a day at work that couldn't have been much better. I've mentioned before that I'm a union executive that deals with grievances in the workplace, and there's a saying. We represent 5% of the workforce, 95% of the time. It's always the same "frequent flyers" that are grieving everything and seem to have a problem just coming to work, to ACTUALLY WORK. So I spend a lot of time with management trying to put out fires. One of the fires was extinguished yesterday, won't ever be a problem again and it is a relief for all.

I visited Value Village and found a new coffee maker for my desk, along with one of my favourite Timmy's mugs so I bought them. They work great, so today started off well too. The walk in was mild which was a nice break.

My menu: B: protein shake. MS: protein bar and 3 strawberries. L: Beef barley soup. AS: Protein bar and 1/2 cup blueberries. S: Same as lunch (probably) before drum lessons kick in.

QOTD: 11 months (almost) post-op and I'm still not feeling cravings for anything. I've caved around the holidays and had a few treats here and there, but it was a decision built-in to my daily calories, a crime of opportunity, not something I purposely sought out (like when I'd hop in the fatmobile and drive to Wendy's, acting on a craving for a bacon cheeseburger).

No hunger, no desire or tummy rumblings. Food is fuel mantra still rings in my head, and I just don't want it if I don't need it. Sometimes I've had a brain fart (like the other day in the office kitchen) but I didn't crave it. Just ate mindlessly, which I think is the bigger problem for me in all of this. I'm putting things in place to keep that in check though, including talking to a coworker if needed but so far, so good. I've got my fuel in my lunch bag and my timers set on my phone.

Honestly, I'm kinda hoping that I never feel true hunger for anything, or cravings for particular foods again, but if I do, I've been reading all about it so I'll hopefully be ready. Choices and consequences, right?

I can kind of feel your work "pain". It can be a relief when some situations come to an end.

It's been a very big test of my patience. Some days, I win. Some days, I think to myself "I would really like to help this brainless, lazy person down the stairs".

I'm still a free man, so I haven't crossed that line yet....LOL

Hope you feel better soon, Daisy! Another 10+ hour busy day on my feet today and my knee is still killing me. I need a vacation haha! Still feeling so tired and have no energy. I upped my iron and vit d in the last few weeks but I almost feel more tired. Go figure. Maybe it's time to up my b vits?

qotd: I'm trying to do CAMAW this week to get back on track since the last few months have been less than stellar.. So I've been cravong everyyyyything haha. Pretty much been white knuckling my way through the week and repeating mantras in my head. Having the Greek yogurt has helped me curb the late night sweet tooth but I wish I could kick the sweet craving/habit all together. One thing at a time, I guess.

b- syntrax with one cup of high protein almond/cashew milk

l- leftover naked pulled pork and one Italian meatball

d- tbd. Maybe a tuna packet with very little mayo. Or more meatballs.

s- Greek l&f

v- patches, oral iron and vit d

e- hopefully an steep incline walk on the treadmill if my knee will let me. I'm so scared I'll make it worse if I'm not patient with it

have a good day everyone!

I totally get it, having an injury and wanting to still exercise. Just be careful, as hard as it is sometimes it's better to modify your workout as needed for a small amount of time instead of pushing it and creating a more serious injury that has you out longer. Sorry for the unsolicited advice but I have done it and want to spare ya.

No, I appreciate it! Thank you for saying that because I've been having this internal struggle over it. On one hand I feel like I should honor what my body is telling me my limits are and on the other hand I feel like I'm just finding a way to make excuses to be a lazy bumb haha

Yup, I get you 100%. Luckily, I was able to modify and instead of running, on my "run" days I used the bike or more elliptical time.
