I was able to eat all the sugar free stuff early after my surgery but now I find that my body just doesn't like it.

I was not a fast loser but who cares as long as you get there! I know the newbies check the trackers and the signatures so although I kind of lost track of how the rest of the weight came off, you should know that it was not fast and furious but it was slow and steady!

current BMI 24.7 that, my friends, is NORMAL!!! Strong is the new pretty!

I don't eat sugar free treats because the sugar alcohols make me feel terrible and they make me crave sweets more.

Thanks for all your comments and input. This is life-changing for me! I never imagined that sugar free stuff would make me feel bad. I'm 10 years out and still learning a million things. Thanks to you all! I think people who have had their surgery not so long ago learn more from their nutritionists than the info I was given 10 years ago. I also had my surgery in Colombia, self pay, and never saw a nutritionist or support bariatric doctor after returning from Colombia so my knowledge is a bit limited. I learn from you all.

I tried to see a bariatric doctor last month to follow-up, make sure everything was in order and maybe get advice on new things discovered/learned since me having the surgery in 2007, but my insurance denied payment as they consider a bariatric doctor "weight loss treatment", even though I explained it wasn't for treatment but for follow-up of previous surgery. Anyway.....

THANK YOU for sharing so much with me. I greatly appreciate it!

You can make your own protein pudding by doing a Premier protein plus enough milk to make 2 cups and SF pudding mix. Bananas and cream is really good.

I try to limit sugar and artificial sweeteners as much as I can, but if I want pudding, I use Kroger's Carbmaster yogurt and a teaspoon of SF pudding mix. It does not affect me as much that way (the yogurt has much less sugar than in milk).

I used to make Amazing fat free sugar free fre****alian style gelatos using SF puddings fat free milk powder in a ( three hundred dollar ) automatic Gelato machine. My landlord ( who loved anything fatty ) couldn't get enough of this lite but great tasting deliciousness. He actually dropped my NYC rent to zero so I guess the cooking worked magic.

Five years or so post RNY I still only taste desserts ... and strongly prefer sugared not sugar free ones. But just a bite !

Too much sweetner, and sensitive, gave me diarrhea, and a headache.!

I make my own sugar free deserts with pyure stevia... no i am not a paid rep. I tolerate only this brand of stevia because it is processed so cleanly, natural stevia leaves and sugar in very small(tsp) amounts.. all else makes me sick and those same sweetners are in every diet product
