What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
Morning (almost afternoon)menu peeps!
Busy morning for me, but I'm trying really hard to get here everyday!
QOTD: Brush my teeth, wash my face, change into my jammies, go potty, and climb into my warm bed (mattress warmed goes on around 6-7 so it's toasty warm)... I turn off the mattress heater and put the TV on Forensic Files, sleep timer on 60 min... we get the dogs situated on their side of the bed and I kiss DH good night... I'll lie facing him for a while and we'll chat, but once I roll onto my left side, it's lights out for me! I love the droning voice of the FF guy, and his stories just put me to sleep.
Accountability: Did well yesterday, but I was HUNGRY (obsessing over food?) and added some chicken before I left for home.
Breakfast and lunch are from the foods I brought in yesterday... this morning I had chicken crack for breakfast... dinner will be grilled salmon and broccoli. Plenty of decaf today since again, I seem to be obsessing with food in my head... Sigh

Hello Everyone,
I have to post quickly now and come back to read later tonight.. at least I'm hoping I'll be able to. Work all day followed by a rehearsal followed by another rehearsal in Boston till 9:30 then the long drive back to southern RI! I'm tired thinking about it.
QOTD: Yes, I start up my two heated blankets to get them nice and warm and then I brush my teeth and to any other things that need doing (eyebrows etc) and then I either read posts here or play a few games like "words with friends" or "candy crush" until I can't hold my ipad any longer!
Accountability: I was right on track with CAMAW yesterday. Felt good to get through the day. Day 2 today.

Hi all, happy Tuesday!
We are in the midst of a wild winter storm here! Its been pouring (blissful rain!) this morning, but last night the wind was incredibly intense and gusting. It really felt like we were caught up in a violent squall out at sea. The cats were alarmed! I've noticed that winter storms here often have a wild, restless, very oceanic quality.
People here whose homes are adjacent to or beneath the areas that were burned have had to evacuate: not only does the fire denude the hillsides, but it damages the soil itself, making it less able to absorb water. Whole hillsides can collapse and come pouring down in an unstaunchable river of mud and debris. This tendency is made more dangerous in those areas where the hills are composed of unstable marine sediment. I got several emergency notifications on my phone this morning, warning people to move to higher ground. But I am safe.
My computer went batsh*t crazy this weekend (to quote Lindsay Graham), and though I managed to restore it to stability, I lost tons of programs. Spent about 3 hours yesterday re-installing my Adobe programs. I purchased the last iteration they made available under a perpetual license before they became a subscription-based service. Adobe was so incredibly paranoid about piracy (with good reason) that they made installation almost impossible for those who actually made legitimate purchases! But all is finally well. I still have to get my printer going again, will do that today.
QOTD: I pet the cats goodnight and invite them to join me in the bedroom (being cats, they may or may not, depending on their mood). I take out my contacts, take off my eye makeup, clean my face, brush/floss my teeth, brush my hair, spritz on some scent i like, get into a nightgown, get into bed, mess around on my tablet, plug it and my phone in to charge, read an actual real book, pray, and finally sleep.
First: tea with cashew milk, vanilla protein powder
B: roast beef, cheddar
L: turkey, refried beans
D: I'll make some sort of beef dish.
Have a beautiful day!

Glad to hear you are safe. I got the alerts for SB CO in the wee hours also, though it didn't effect me or my area.

Thanks Amy! I am safe! My brother's house has mud flow in the driveway, but it stopped short of their garage and house, thank goodness! One of the guys he works with had his beautiful, big Montecito home completely buried in mud, up to the roof! He had just enough time to scramble up onto the roof, and was rescued by helicopter. So awful! But far better than the poor souls who lost their lives!
