Accountability was good as I was knitting so my hands were busy. Post op 5 years 4.25 months and weight at 118 today. Lily and I will walk 4 miles in a bit when it's light enough to see well as there will most likely be slick spots as temp is right at 32. Will also do another mile after supper. Here's the food plan for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 3/4 cchili with cheese D 3/4 c ham and beans S sm apple with 1 T peanut butter. Have a great day all and take the time to make smart choices that move you closer to your goals. We've got this!
I have started eating a 5 grain hot cereal and I add a tbsp of almond butter. Similar to steel cut oats.

I love my morning oats. I didn't eat them until maintenance but are pretty much my daily breakfast now unless we eat out. I love how filling they are and I add protein powder and peanut butter to help with the protein count. The fiber definetely helps with bathroom problems and they keep me full til lunchtime. They don't seem to make me crave other carbs either like protein bars do. Just yummy all around, especially during the cold months!
I have to admit I was nervous about adding them, but so far so good and you are right about them being filling and do not cause a craving for carbs.

Good morning! I have today and tomorrow off work so I can be with DH, he's having a hernia repaired today. He was hoping it would wait until he was at goal so he could combine it with some PS for some of his excess skin, but he's now been to the ER twice so the could "put his guts back in." I know that's not technically what's happening, but...kind of. Lol
qotd: Id say I put on my pajamas, but quite honestly I usually put them on shortly after getting home for the day. I wash my face, brush my teeth, kiss DH, and make sure my cat Sterling comes to bed with me before I close the bedroom door or she'll cry til I let her in. I take my nightly insulin and metformin and vitamins, then lay in bed and do one more social media check before turning off the lamp and curling into a ball
breakfast: hitting the gym in a bit, and I'll just have a protein shake afterward. Nice to be able to go early and avoid the after-work rush!
lunch: I still have some lasagna, I'll eat that before we go to the hospital. Surgery isn't until 1:30 but we need to be there by noon.
snack: I plan on taking a few things from home in an insulated lunch bag: Greek L&F, oh snap! Pickles carrots
dinner: not sure, depends on how surgery goes, and how long they're keeping him in the hospital. Surgeon said same-day, nurse said overnight. So possibly whatever they have in the cafeteria?
