What's on your Sunday menu RNYers?
Mornin' Weekenders!
I'm at my yoga studio waiting for the Sunday morning meditation class to start (there's a vegetarian cafe inside the studio - with great coffee!). After this we're going to the grocery store and maybe a couple of thrift shops (my MIL gave us each money to buy clothes at thrift shops, since she knows we now prefer those to regular stores, and it's hard to buy gift cards to such places long distance). May make pulled pork later - and then there's Aqua Zumba this evening. So...typical Sunday. At least it's warmer - 16 degrees F when I left the house. Huge improvement over the last two weeks!
Accountability was good yesterday - barely over 1700 kcal. I'm going to give this another week ****il the holiday eating stuff has rolled off the radar) and then adjust calories and/or exercise if my weight doesn't drop back down to 145-ish.
I have an appt with my new PCP on Wednesday - so excited (isn't this weird??). I know she's going to be great. Hopefully with clothes on - and in the late afternoon (when I'm at her office) - I'll be under 150 (in the morning with no clothes my weight has been 146-148 the last month or so). I don't ever want to see 150+ on my chart again!!!
QOTD: I'm not one for a slab of meat by itself, other than a piece of sirloin steak or salmon once in awhile. I do like it in stir fries or things like chicken salad, though. We eat mostly chicken and pork - with an occasional steak or fish. We seem to be eating a lot of pulled pork and chili lately, too (I put Italian sausage in my chili).
2 years 7 months out
B: homemade Greek yogurt with 1 T tahini and 1 T cherry butter mixed in
S: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax latte shake
L: 1/2 C baked beans (the last of them) and some kind of protein - maybe a couple of meatballs (??)
S: raw veggies & Greek yogurt dip
D: pulled pork if it's ready. Otherwise, chili
probably a piece of protein crustless pumpkin pie later
ex: Aqua Zumba
Tahini eh? I like the idea of that.

I've been trying to add more (healthy) fat to my diet to keep myself from getting too hungry. I read somewhere that some people stir tahini into their yogurt, smoothies, etc, so I figured - what the heck? It does do the trick. Sometimes I can taste it more than others - depends on the brand (although I like the taste)
Happy Sunday, menu friends,
We finally have a normal winter day and the severe, dangerous cold snap has passed. It's -15, but supposed to warm up to -10, which is a temp I can breathe OK at so I will be going for a walk. There's 4-5 feet of snow out there but the main streets have the sidewalks plowed so it won't be too bad.
Yesterday I rode my exercise bike for half an hour before I had to get off due to a sore butt, lol. I can ride my regular bike all day long without problem but my exercise bike is a recumbent with a chair seat, which in theory should be so much more comfortable, but it really hurts. I'd have to pay 100 bucks for the gel seat cover big enough to fit it, and the whole bike was just a bit more than that, so I don't want to fork out the extra money.
QOTD: My favorite meat dish in summer is steak on the BBQ, and my favorite winter protein dish is shrimp sauteed in 1 tsp of olive oil flavored becel, with garlic, sprinkled with a bit of parmesan. It's sooooo yummy, and super easy to make.
Accountability: Good, stayed on plan yesterday and avoided the zillions of Christmas cookies and junk food still in the house...and yet this morning my weight was up instead of down! Ahhhh!
Menu:
Breakfast: 2 cups decaf with 1/4 cup premier protein in each, Greek Yogurt, berries
Lunch: 1 egg omelette with cheese.
Afternoon snack: 1 cup home made beef broth (low sodium)
Supper: Unsure, but it will be meat. I think we're having steak.
Snack: pepperette, 1/4 cup fresh pineapple chunks

Good morning! Almost afternoon here I guess. Slept in and snuggled DH, we just got some fleece sheets and I pretty much never want to leave bed now. So cozy!
QotD: we eat a lot of chicken because it's cheap here, but I love salmon, steak, and seafood, shrimp especially. I've been making a lot of pulled pork, and portioning it out with different seasonings (some I did carnitas style for Mexican meals, some with sugar free BBQ sauce.
breakfast: more like brunch by the time we ate, but I had 2 scrambled eggs and 2 strips of bacon with a very large coffee.
Snack: not sure if I'll eat a real lunch today, since breakfast wasn't until about 10, but I've actually been craving a bowl of broccoli, is that odd?? So maybe I'll steam some up with some butter?
dinner: noodle-less lasagna. Might pick up a zucchini and do zoodles though.
