I hear you Peach! My daughter is doing somewhat better but the boys in my house haven't changed their eating at all and my DH always has to have sweets in the house. So most of the time I feel like a loan warrior too.

Good Morning Fellow Menu Peeps,

Still lots of snow and ice on our roads here in Virginia. By early evening yesterday, DH and I both had both developed a bad case of cabin fever and our exciting outing for the evening was going shopping for dog food. Whoot whoot ... we're just two big party animals!

QOtD: A good habit I've developed post op is that I just don't buy carb filled snack foods, soda or sweets anymore. Since they aren't in the house neither DH nor I have access to it. I'm 10 days shy of my 1 year surgiversary and he has dropped 27 pounds. Also, I'm not cooking any simple carbs anymore (pasta, rice or white potatoes) and I think that has really helped my whole family. DD now asks if I'll make "zoodles" (spiralized zucchini cooked to resemble pasta) with tomato sauce and meatballs for dinner.

Menu

B: Frittata slice with a piece of bacon

L: Spinach salad with grilled turkey slices

S: Apples slices, cheese stick

D: White chili with shredded cheese

Have a great day everyone!

I need to look for my snowshoes too; they're in the garage somewhere. It's been too cold to go outdoors this week, with temp****ting -40 (C and F), but tomorrow it's supposed to warm up to -12 C (which is 10 F) so I'll be able to get out, thank goodness.

Accountability: Great until 2 AM when I gave in and ate a handful of cheesies, which makes me feel awful, like I'm out of control. I tried so hard and failed. Today will be better.

QOTD: None of my habits have rubbed off on anyone, lol.

Menu:

Breakfast: 2 Decaf with 1/4 cup premier protein in each cup.

Lunch: pepperette and cheese string, tomato, pickles.

Supper: garlic shrimp, which I planned to eat yesterday but ended up having chicken left over from lunch instead.

Snack: Greek Yogurt with bran buds and strawberries.

Pre-Op Visit: Jan. 10, 2017, weight 304, surgeon: Dr. David Lindsay, St. Joe's, Toronto

1st Day of (3 weeks worth of) Optifast: Jan. 11, 2017

Surgery Date: Feb. 1st, 2017

good morning, weekend warriors!!

I was up early this morning to go to sunrise yoga. I hate going out in this frigid weather, but this IS Wisconsin, so I need to just accept it. Life doesn't stop. I can't believe it's actually going to be 27 degrees F tomorrow. Halleleujah! It's going to feel like spring after this two-week long deep freeze!!

I had a cup of Enlightened ice cream last night for dinner instead of my planned chili. It was fine calorie-wise, but not a particularly good choice nutrition-wise. I still came in just under 1700 calories for the day, which is fine, but... Those two 2000 kcal days are about the roll off my sparkpeople thingie (NYE and NYD), so hopefully my weight will start drifting downwards as well. If not, we'll be cutting calories back a bit and/or stepping up on the exercise. My weight (147 this morning) is fine, but I'd rather be back in the low 140s. I feel like a bloated mess at this weight.

QOTD: DH eats what I eat, at least most of the time (he always has cookies around, but those don't tempt me at all), and he doesn't drink soda anymore, so I guess it's rubbed off to some extent. I just wish he'd exercise more. It'd motivate me as well if we both went together.

2 years 7 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt with added protein powder and 1 T Crio Bru grounds

S: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax vanilla latte shake

L: maybe baked beans and meatballs??

D: chili

maybe a piece of crustless protein pumpkin pie later if I can afford the calories

Good morning everyone. I've been a little MIA. Got through some messy personal stuff and very busy work days. Dad is fine, back home and doing well now. Thank you all for the concern and support, it really meant a lot

The weather here has been a foggy and rainy, temps in temps in the 50-60's - mild. As Cara mentioned, it was seriously foggy on the central coast yesterday and I actually went in to work late to avoid driving in that serious dark fog on the freeway. We are expecting a lot of rain this week which we need badly.

QOTD - My son is more aware of carbs now and tends to eat healthy at home, but chooses total crap out. Rob is a carb junkie. We always have chips, crackers, cookies, ice cream...there are fresh donuts on the counter right now. It is what it is. He offered to go clean when I had my surgery, but I said no. I have to do this on my own. He tends to choose salty snacks I don't care for anyway so its not that big of a deal - except cheeze-its...they are evil. Sweets - I haven't had any sweets since surgery so this is easier for me. I like them, but they don't bother me because again he chooses items, brands or flavors I don't like anyway.

accountability - great!

13 mo post op - 159 - new low which brings me to a loss total of 150!!

b- coffee w/hc, eggs

l- chicken

d-cheeseburger salad

v/l - on track

Have a wonderful day everyone

Glad to hear you got things with your dad sorted out. I'm right there with you on the snacks. I don't buy their cookies and sweets for them but I'm the one who chose to have this surgery. Besides there will always be temptations and I need to learn to deal with it in healthy ways if I want to have long term success.

I agree - I see these things all day everyday and I have to learn to deal with the temptation -they literally are everywhere. I recall dieting in my past and clearing the house of all bad things. It made it easy to be good at home, but at the office or at a party I would lose control -it was total open season.
