A fave of mine would be medjool dates- remove the seed, replace with an almond, wrap with half a strip of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Bake at 400 until the bacon is done. It's a weird combo but it's so yummy. My dh rarely tries anything but he tried these and really like them.

Slice of English cucumber, dollop of whipped cream cheese, small twisted slice of smoked salmon, breath of fresh dill against the cream cheese topped with salmon and one- two carefully placed capers...gorgeous and tastes great!

Morning Menu Peeps!

It's been a long week for me. I wasn't here yesterday because I was at the doctor with my daughter who has developed another ulcer. Hypylori test was ordered, but I don't anticipate that being the issue. She is very hard on herself and deals with anxiety, so I am fairly certain this is the crux of all of it. Even the doctor mentioned it to her.

QOTD: I haven't read the thread you referenced yet, but I need to. While I know my health has gotten better, I wasn't on any meds prior to WLS... but I knew it was just a matter of time. I think I measure my success in how much more aware I am of what I do put in my mouth, and the realization that I DO have an eating disorder... I really find it interesting that prior to surgery I would seriously think I couldn't lose weight, and that I didn't eat 'THAT' bad. I was so wrong. I truly was in denial. I hope that I am able to maintain now that I am able to admit my issues, and work diligently to deal with them.

Accountability: It's been a rough week, but aside from too much whipped cream in my coffee yesterday, I've persevered through it. NOW, to get through the weekend, where I tend to 'allow' myself things I don't need because it's the weekend. Sigh.

Weight this morning 142.2. Trying to carve off 5 pounds and get back to 137. 1 year/7 months out from surgery.

Foods for the day: 4 ounces of ham, 4 ounces of cheeseburger patty, 4 ounces of baked meaty ricotta. Dinner is up in the air, but I am making chicken crack tonight for lunches next week, and I also have chicken legs out thawing...

My picture isolder, but here's one from Christmas... Me at our annual ugly sweater contest... I was a rappin' (wrapping) disaster... sweater had bows/paper/tape/scissors/tags all glued all over it, then I added the $ necklace/hat/sunglasses and did a silly little 'rap'. I had a lot of fun, and of course, I won! (I always do, I get competitive over this!

It really is... and if I'm not being hard on her, she's being hard on herself... Hoping that in a couple of years we can learn to love each other again! LOL (only partly kidding, mind you)

You may not think you are putting pressure on her, but she has years of your encouragement to do her best and it all peaks in the senior year. Plus there is so much peer pressure to do well among teens and from teachers. I remember almost going out of my mind during that time. The best you can do right now is to be supportive, calm and encourage her to make the best decisions with her life that she can. You have done your Mom part over the years and now it is getting to where she has the choice to fly how she wants. Very scary! Stay on track for yourself so you can be a good mom and try to let alot of the teen angst go. We are cheering for you all!

Oh I know who to come to when I have a competition to be in! I have to check your pic later- my work computer always blocks your pics- I don't know why. I'm with you on the prior to surgery. I used to be on here a lot and think- I don't have an eating disorder- I am not addicted to food. But now I know that I am- without a shadow of a doubt.

So sorry about your daughter- my daughter puts a lot on herself too and I worry. So far she seems to find balance but she will be a senior next year so I hope she's still able to do that.
