Oh yeah I was going to add them this year as well. Thats actually my favorite! We just do 1 small raised garden bed. It's so super hot here, and have so much going on with our kids that we forget it sometimes lol.

Zucchini will do great! They do take up a lot of space, I'd give them at least 4 feet of room to grow. They turn into a large bush kind of thing. And check for zucchini frequently, if you let them go, you'll end up with zucchini's the size of your arm! I personally don't like them that large, they get really seedy. Pick them a bit smaller and it will produce more. Good luck!

I'm worried about critters! We back on to a forest and there are so many squirrels, raccoons and chipmunks around- plus I'm sure many other animals that we don't see. Our neighbour's 10 cats don't seem to have any impact on the population either- in fact it's amusing to watch the squirrels tell the cats off. The pumpkins I put out for Halloween very quickly became squirrel feeders lol. I have a feeling our garden will be invaded this year.

I have been caught running around my garden waving my arms to scare off rabbits! DH about died laughing.

Spraying some super hot pepper hot sauce on the plants keeps most critters away from plants. I blend up my own from hot Chile peppers, strain out any large chunks that might clog a squirt nozzle. All natural, just have to re-spray regularly, especially after rain/dew. Sprinkling red pepper flakes around the garden helps too.

I'm glad you can post when you can. You are a few months ahead of me in this journey and was wondering how it was going. Glad you made your weigh in goal and hope you get an approval quickly. I've gained a couple of pounds over the holidays and am working to get it off b4 my 4 month weigh in which is on the 23rd.

Best wishes to you!

Pamela
