Good morning and happy Thursday. I'm working from home today and tomorrow. So much to do I barely know where to start.

QOTD: Do you like brussel sprouts? For some reason a few people mentioned brussel sprouts lately and I was surprised how many people don't like them. In our family we love them- my favourite way is to roast them but we like them pretty much any way. Except Owen but he doesn't like many vegetables.

Accountability was awesome yesterday. Really feel like I'm back on track.

Menu:

B: Omelette

L: leftover spaghetti made with veggie noodles

D: Chicken

S: Greek yogurt

have an an awesome day everyone and for those getting this latest cold snap- stay warm!

Good morning! A big old blizzard is coming our way today! We are expecting 12" - 15" and all 6 of my schools are closed as well as my office. I will be telecommuting and have phone calls back to back for the majority of the day. I think we will probably have tomorrow off, too.

I am happy to say I had another perfect day yesterday and was rewarded with a drop on the scale :) I did switch out dinner to something else, but it was actually lower calorie than I had planned, so all good. I even managed to get 13,000 steps, so I made up for being a little low on Tuesday. I am going to have to really buckle down to avoid doing all of the mindless snacking that I have been doing while home for the past month, and I have no idea how I will get any steps in while sitting on the phone all day...

QOTD: I didn't like them at all as a kid because my grandma only made them boiled and they were bitter. Yuck. But I make them roasted and spiced and they are okay. I wouldn't put them in my top 10, but I don't hate them.

I saw that blizzard on the weather report- the Atlantic provinces are supposed to get it as well. They are calling it a snow cyclone. No snow in our forecast but we're headed for another deep freeze for a couple of days.

Happy snow day menu folks! We don't have alot of snow, but I am approved for unscheduled telework. So I am sitting at home in my slippers today. Yippee! Unfortunately, I still had to get out to get my wife to work and the roads were untreated and people were driving insanely. That is why I like to stay home. I can drive in the snow, but there are so many people on the road here who don't know how to drive with or without snow that it makes me nervous. Oh well, I'm back home and safe.

QOTD: I love brussels sprouts! Roasted are good, but I pretty much like them however they are made, except cooked to mush. I am lucky that the cafeteria at work has them regularly so I get to eat them pretty often. The only problem is that they sometimes give me gas or I'd eat them in large quantities.

Just a note to carry over from yesterday's thread. Several of us were discussing making snow cream when we were kids. Since some of us are getting snow, I will repost the instructions that my mom sent to me.

Pour 1/3 of a can of either sweetened condensed milk or evaporated milk (much less sugar) into a bowl. Place in the freezer until the milk is crunchy. Stir in 1 TBSP of sugar (if you are using evaporated milk, although you could try a sugar substitute) and 1 tsp of flavoring (my mom uses vanilla, almond or peppermint) if desired. Add as much clean fresh snow until it is the consistency that you like. Serve with fruit, nuts or chocolate. Supershopper said that she used to add a couple of drops of food coloring too. Yum!

Menu:

Breakfast: hard boiled egg, 2 oz ham, 1/2 cup plain oatmeal

Snack: Grape protein shake

Lunch: chicken breast, baby carrots

Snack: 2 oz turkey breast

Dinner: not sure since my plans are up in the air this evening

Exercise: if the roads clear up, I will go swimming for an hour this afternoon

Thanks for sharing the recipe! And I'm with you- I don't like them boiled to a mush either.
