Amen girl! Amen! It's one thing to post every now & then about a new size, but posts over n over about how small you are is humble bragging.

Excellent post, as always.

A bariatric support group is NO place to brag about how amazingly tiny you are. Have some compassion!

I am greatful I had this surgery and hopefully I've extended my life. I know I'm feeling much better. Now, my employer is restricting this surgery as many have had the surgery the last few years.

The worst thing I remember doing was asking a lady at a support group when she was scheduled for surgery. She was probably close to 300 pounds. I felt terrible when I found out that she was more than a year out and had lost about 100 pounds. I never did that again.

I was about 6 months out when someone asked me when my surgery was. Not everyone starts out a lightweight! Mine was a nurse at the bariatric surgeon's office. OUch!

I disagree with you. If that member thought her size 20 was disgusting and she wants to post that's her prerogative. This is a weight loss surgery forum. If she feels empowered to post her milestones and what she views as her successes then we should embrace her too. I don't think she meant to come off as a jerk to anyone. Congratulations to her and to you.

It's absolutely everyone's right to be a jerk.

It's possible-- easy, even-- to post milestones in a way that doesn't (directly or indirectly) put others down.
