What's on your Christmas (Monday) menu, RNYers?
I'm so excited to post here today. Just by chance, Christmas is my first day if solid food! I needed a serious plan to make it, here goes:
breakfast: I started the day with a homemade hot protein cocoa, so I feel the holiday and part of the family.
morning snack: Prosciutto, one ounce and one slice of provolone. Yum!
Lunch: Two slices of provolone and 1/2 a cup of raspberries.
Afternoon snack: Babybel light
Dinner: Roast beef, two ounces and a serving of mashed cauliflower.
I set out lovely fruit, cheese, and meat trays for the family and handed them their sweets, to keep temptatiin away. So far, so good, but I did lick thhe frosting off my fingers after serving the cinnamon rolls. It made me dizzy, so that was good reinforcement. That lands me at 634 calories and 57 grams of protien for the day, so I need to scrounge up three more grams of protein, maybe another slice of roast beef, if I wait awhile to eat it.
Thanks!
Merry Christmas! Yesterday I didn't track the day intentionally. I did have a lot of BLTs, but way less overall than pre-WLS and I am back on the usual maintenance wagon today. We will be getting together with friends or family for several meals this week, so I really need to be careful with choices. There aren't too many sweets leftover to tempt me thank goodness - just some pumpkin bread and chocolate chip cookies.
QOTD: The best gift was my new Rothy shoes from DH (I chose and ordered them).
1 year, 9 months post-op
B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: leftover crack slaw
S: nut thins and hummus

Wishing all of my fellow RnYers a very, very Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has been having a wonderful, warm, loving, and very happy day! I certainly have. My darling nephew came to visit, which always makes me happy! I set out dips and amazing cheeses and veggies and crackers and chips, and chocolates, and then we had some incredible beef. Then I packed everything up but the beef to send home with him, along with the cider he likes to drink. He is 6'4" and very lean!
My favorite gift is this one:
My son and his wife sent it to me. It is so overwhelmingly gorgeous - the handwork, the gilt bullion, the pearls, the sheer intensity of beauty in the photos is mindblowing. I find I can only look at maybe 25 pages at a time - it is literally overwhelming, like an enormous sugar rush. Fabulous!
I am having beef today - had some dip (not much and I made it, know what was in it, and it's fine) and two small pieces of cheese, otherwise it will be beef and broccoli tonight. And lots of tea! And a Cinnamon Buns or a Vanilla protein shake.
I took some photos of my mantel and some of my ornaments. I know it's ridiculous but I actually didn't finish putting everything on the tree - I have had a bad backache over the past few days and just was short of energy. So more of the Swarovski stars and snowflakes will go on (I love these, they bend the light and throw rainbows everywhere) and more glass icicles. I am having people over for a party before New Years so I want the tree to be it's most glittery, perfectly adorned self!
I'll edit this post to add my photos - forgot to upload them, doing that now.
Wishing all of you all the warmest, kindest blessings of the Season! May your hearts all be full!
love to you! xoxox!

Merry Happy and all the best to you all, my weight loss muses -
Mostly I lurk on this sight but you have all been a wonderfully important guide and inspiration for me so today I'm chiming in. Thank you for making it safe and welcoming.
Today was a cup of sf cocoa while present opening, followed by breakfast at a friend's house. She made an egg, sausage, veggie bake which was delicious. I've gotten pretty good now (7 months out) at avoiding all the breads and sugars so I didn't mourn the home made cinnamon buns or any of the other baked wonderfulnesses she'd created. That was a pretty powerful gift in itself!
We've done so much entertaining this season. It's been a lot of work, but I loved seeing all our friends while still being able to control my food. Probably the most difficult thing I did was bake double batches of 2 of my 3 favorite types of cookies and not be able to even lick my fingers. I told Blu III that his job was to remember how much love went into those cookies every time he pops one in his mouth.
All the entertaining has filled the fridge with leftovers so I had a snack of a protein bar and lunch was leftover Chinese (small bites of 4 different dishes - no starches).
Afternoon snack was leftover Chinese, then there was a bowl of fresh fruit. I'll most likely do a protein shake in a bit, just to make sure I stay on top of things.
QOTD: Blu III gave me an overflowing armload of cashmere sweaters and tops that are all size LARGE - firsts for me and boy-howdy am I excited about them!
Thank you all for being such a large part of the very best gift I've ever been given - having my life back again.

Merry Christmas Trish and Menu Family,
Thank you for starting us off, Trish!
QOTD: I got many nice gifts, but here's a picture of two plaques that my niece gave me. On the top one, the coat hooks are the dogs' tails! My brother and his wife gave $25 each in my name and in my daughter's name to our local Humane Society. That was such a thoughtful gift from them because they know we love animals! In the past they have sent food and I can't eat the chocolates or bready gifts any more. So kind of them.
I'm not even going to talk about my menu today. It was Christmas and I splurged and overate, starting with a cinnamon roll for breakfast and it went downhill from there. Tomorrow is a new day!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday!
