Puréed foods question
First of all thank you to all the members *****ached out and gave me condolences on the loss of my mom. I'm truly grateful for your kindness, and prayers are very much appreciated. I'm headed to the wake now, funeral tomorrow. I've been taking in as much liquid as I can, but it's getting really difficult to find any nutritional liquids during this time. I have been drinking my 2 premier shakes a day, but now my question is that as I'm on the verge of the puréed food stage would it be ok to just purée up some of the tins of food that people have been kindly dropping off?
Thank you for any suggestions!
Depends on what the food is? A lot of "comfort" food people bring can be pretty carb heavy, and that's not ideal for you.

Yes I'll definitely be avoiding carbs but I hadn't thought about the connection between them and comfort foods. Thank you!
Possibly as long as you can turn it into "soup" or at least something that can be poured
Also beware sugar that may be added. That's one ingredient you really want to avoid. And flour. And starchy veggies.
But two Premiere shakes a day is a great start. I used to add peanut butter powder to change the flavor. I know at this stage it's about finding salty things to add to your repertoire.

personally,I would delay purses until after the funeral. I would continue with the premier protein until after the funeral.
sometimes, especially with thing you haven't had before, especially having to go to a funeral, might make you dum*****t agree with you in any number of ways.
I would not purée up anything in a can and eat it and not know whether it will make you sick and you might miss the funeral.
