Thank you all for your advice. :) I do agree that support is very important. The first three years I pretty much lived on OH and was very strict with my diet. Lately, I've been trying everything (except fast food). I am eating bread and pasta and even sugar, which I know I must cut out completely. I don't eat big portions and I still have a protein shake for breakfast (never stopped). I look forward to hearing from all of you and feeling accountable. It's hard to start cleaning my diet now - a few days away from Christmas, but I promised myself that January is my new beginning. :)

Why not start cleaning up your diet today? There will always be something that comes up that can derail your intentions, so just start right away, do the best you can, don't beat yourself up, and make adjustments when necessary. Good luck!

I totally agree. I've already started making smaller changes, like removing sugar and bread. But, I want to start completely from scratch as of January so that I am accountable for it. I need to mentally prepare for it, if it makes sense.

You've gotten great advice!

In addition, if you aren't already, start tracking what you eat by measuring it and logging in something like MyFitnesspal. That will help you to troubleshoot and fine tune your diet.

You can do this!

hi - I came on the site to kind of look around (again) after not being on here for a loooooooong time

I am 6 years post op and have gained back A LOT of the weight. i didn't lose most of the weight i 'should' have, and while that is really shameful for me - it is what it is.

I am trying (often) to get 'back on the wagon' but not having a lot of luck...

a component of MY issues also revolve around chronic pain. I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia 2 months ago. I hope you find some help here on the site, and I hope to get back into reading and posting here - god knows i need it LOL

have a good day

Well, I have started my back-to-basics diet as of January 2nd. I am cutting out all simple carbs - bread, crackers, pasta, sugar, etc. I am eating high protein and counting calories on MyFitnessPal. I am also trying to increase my daily steps. Trying to be accountable. Wish me luck! :)

- I also had bloodwork done. Twelve tubes of blood!!!! Waiting for results....
