What's on your Thursday menu RNYers?
Good morning everyone! I loved ice skating as a kid. There was a "lake" near us and we (me and my 5 brothers and sisters) went everyday it was cold enough. Used to love playing crack the whip! And kid challenges like seeing who could skate closest to the waterfall at the end of the lake. We also joined a rink. I was never very talented (forward backward and stop) but my brother won some championships... Totally reckless...switched to ice hockey when a teen...recklessness came in handy there.,.played into his forties. As I grew older and put on weight my baby sister inheritated my skates. But It was a really fun way to grow up!
Christmas is almost here...for some reason I can't bring myself to decorate. Better get started...Christmas is at my place.
This is my first Christmas since WLS ... It's been a wild ride but I've gone from 345 to 185 ( 20 pounds below goal). Anyway since Christmas is at my place I've stocked up on good stuff to eat. There's going to be cranberry crumble and ice cream but I think I'm OK with it. A little apprehensive.
B. Coffee and protein shake
L. Cottage cheese, sugar free jam and a tiny banana (started buying thosze little bananas)
S. 2 eggs and cheese
New year's resolution: try to post everyday. I've got to start maintenance and I'm really scared about the that.
Have a lovely holiday everybody...you're all in my heart. (maybe if I post more often I be able to write shorter posts)
I learned on a lake as well, sadly the lake does not seem to freeze as long as it once did. Thanks global warming!

Good Morning and happy Friday-eve. Things are still really busy and stressful here at work (which yesterday included a power outage for our whole building for about 1/2 an hour) and as predicted the temp dropped about 20 degrees from yesterday to today. But today is "dress-up" day so I hope that part is fun!

Yesterday, more or less stuck to plan. My 4th month weigh in isn't until January 23rd which hopefully won't give me license to cheat. Went shopping again last night to pick up decorations for tables for Christmas dinner.goingvthis evening after work with hubby to deliver some gifts.
QOTD: I grew up in Nebraska and we would go visit my grandma who lived in Iowa. She had a stream close by that would freeze and we would go skating there. I had pink skates. My younger siblings often would just slide around on the ice with there snow boots. Oh to be young again!
This is my last dull day at work, half day tomorrow, so just have to navigate the break room one more time! I've already been in there 1 time for fruit , I keep salad in the fridge so I'll be ok.
Merry Christmas!

QOTD: Last time I ice sakted was many years ago. I was at a bar with some coworkers and we had an idea to go to Central Park and go skating. I ended up doing a belly flop on the ice and while I never had an official diagnosis, I'm pretty sure I cracked a rib because it hurt for like 2 months. Don't drink and skate!
Good Morning Teena and Menu Family!
QOTD: I tried ice skating once when I was younger and it was horrible! The lake we skated on was all bumpy and the skates I used were higher blades and sharper blades than figure skating skates. I spent most of the time waddling around on my weak ankles. Plus, as Julia said, it was COLD! I loved roller skating but ice skating ... no thank you!
Accountability: I ate some white chocolate gingerbread balls that someone sent us in a gift basket last night in the middle of the night in a moment of weakness. That pushed my calories and carbs up. Protein - 61, Calories - 1,265, Carbs - 148.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt
L: cheesy chicken
D: turkey meal
S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, banana, 2 Atkin's peanut butter cups
E: I might go to the mall or Walmart and walk around because it's supposed to be really cold and snowy here today.
Have a great day everyone!
