Good morning Menu Fam! Hope your Thursday is awesome.

It's fairly mild and dry today but we are expecting snow all next week apparently. My 13 year old has been watching the forecast with delight. I'm not so keen but even though I have to bundle up more I am enjoying this winter more than before. And if I get all my last minute stuff done tomorrow I might take Owen skating on Saturday. It's our secret Santa gift exchange at work today too so that will be fun

QOTD: Do you ice skate? I've always had skates but I'm not very good at it. I've decided that I'd like to practice and get better this winter. We are invited to a skating party and potluck next Friday night so that should be fun.

Menu:

B: Fried egg and 2 strips of bacon

L: Not sure- Protein option at the cafeteria

D: Something quick. We have some shopping to do.

Accountability was good yesterday. Scale is holding at 165. Exercise didn't happen as I ran out of time.

No guarantees on exercise bu****er and vitamins on track.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

77 lbs lost and counting!

Losing the regain! I got this!

Quick post as I need to get on the road. We are expecting freezing rain/snow mix this afternoon. Hoping roads are ok by the time I leave work!

qotd: I've never ice skated. If it's anything like roller blading, I wasn't very good :P

breakfast: protein shake

lunch: work is catering in Pizza Ranch, pizza and chicken (broasted I believe). Pizza is a huge slippery slope for me, I have no control. So I'm going to just take my own lunch, a spinach salad, and try to even avoid going to the break room, but I'm not sure I'll resist even so.

Dinner: protein shake again

last weigh in tomorrow. I'm still sweating bullets over it. I've gotten some of this holiday gain off but I might still be up a pound or two from my last weigh-in, especially given that I weigh in fully clothed at the office, but fully unclothed at home. Has anyone else gained a few during their evaluation stage??

I did gain a couple of pounds for my second-to-last weigh-in - but then it was gone (thankfully!) on my final one. They weren't happy about the gain, but everything still went through as planned.

That's helpful to know! I dropped about 25 lbs BEFORE I started this process (I did the liquid diet with DH in May when he had his own surgery, but I didn't start my journey until June), and my actual weight loss during the evaluation has been minimal, a pound or less each month. But the holidays have taken their toll...

Morning everyone! I had a very nice first day off yesterday. It was the perfect amount of relaxing vs getting some stuff done. Everything is wrapped, I did some crafts, and cleaned up the messes that have been driving me crazy. But I also shopped, watched Christmas Movies, and went out to dinner with my love. Hoping today is the same. I have a haircut at 11:30 and plan to go shopping afterwards. Other than that, not much going on. This is heaven. Can I retire, now?

Accountability: I didn't eat anything I shouldn't have, but I definitely did not eat even one thing on my menu, haha.

QOTD: Nope, I only tried it a few times and I didn't like it. Besides being hard, it was cooooold! Not my thing. I did love rollerskating as a kid, though!

Let's see if I can stick to a plan today, haha.

B: Protein Coffee

S: Almonds and Cheese Cubes

L: Turkey & Brie & Cranberry Sauce

S: Protein Shake

D: Leftover Chicken Fajitas

Haha, I don't know! I mean, getting up at 5am definitely helped... but honestly, I am not terribly good at sitting still, so I do a lot of things at once :)

Good morning Teena and menu folks! It is more seasonably cool today, but supposed to be sunny and nice. I used to love this weather because for once I wasn't sweating. Now I am cold all the time and when the wind blows I get so chilled. I want to get outside and enjoy it though since it is lovely.

I am feeling such a sense of gratitude this year. My health is better than it has been in more than 20 years and I feel strong and well. This has been a hard year, but the results are beyond belief. I still have so much to learn about maintaining, but it is going well and even with a few holiday bites, I am keeping below goal and within about 3 pounds, which I am contented with. I am also grateful for all of you, my friends, on OH, who have helped me this year, offering advice and support. You have helped make it possible.

QOTD: When I was a kid, we did roller skating, but I've never been ice skating. I've never felt very coordinated or athletic so I never really wanted to try. Also living in the MidAtlantic states we didn't have enough cold weather to freeze the water for safe skating.

Menu:

Breakfast: ham, 1/2 slice French toast

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake

Lunch: fish, squash

Dinner: chicken, broccoli

Exercise: short walk, long walk, maybe deep water aerobics

It's going to be 33 and sunny today here on Cape Cod Massachusetts. Unfortunately it is going to warm up over the weekend and rain is predicted for Saturday and Christmas. Then cold (but dry) next week.

QOTD: Yes, I used to love ice skating and wished I could have lessons (never did). A group of us used to ice skate on Friday nights on a swamp/stream that wove through the woods, then have hot chocolate at a friends house. Great memory!

1 year, 9 months post-op:

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese, and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Crack slaw (maybe - but might get something else to cook)

S: Protein bar
