sick of the protein taste
i had RNY GASTRIC BYPASS on 12/14 at northwest medical center in springdale ar with DR.KWON through roller weightloss. i have been doing good getting my 3 protein shakes and my water but the cake batter and the chocolate are really getting to me.i am not aloud to take vitamins yet so i have to do those to shakes for now and its killing me.everything i taste is horrible now.how long did you guys have to stay on liquids only? i cant wait to be released to puree foods?
There are tons of protein shake options out there, so you should experiment and find something that doesn't drive you crazy. There's no reason you shouldn't be able to start taking vitamins as soon as you can swallow/chew them.

I added peanut butter or better yet peanut butter powder to Premiere protein shakes to help change the taste.
Also I was beginning puréed soups by this time.

You won't become vitamin deficient in the few weeks before you can swallow vitamins. You have stores your body will draw from. Protein is what you need now to help you heal. Find a protein you can tolerate. It does not have to contain vitamins.
Sometimes if you use a cup with a lid (like an adult sippy cup...LOL) it helps. The smell of the protein is usually what people have problems with. The lid helps contain the smell and makes it easier to drink.
Your main focus needs to be fluids and protein. Vitamins and food can wait until you tolerated them.
If you have a Vitamin Shoppe Store near you go in there they sell single serve packets like Syntrax Nectar you can buy and try.
