Good morning and welcomed me to Wednesday! 5 days until Christmas- Julia- I have to go to Ikea and it looks like Friday afternoon will be the only day I can go... any tips on navigating the craziness?

It looks like we are getting more snow today so we should be good for a white Christmas- my youngest is extremely excited about that.

QOTD- what's a word you would use to describe your year? Mine is change. Of course it started with gastric bypass surgery in January, and then just continued. We moved in June after being in the same house for 9 years and then my office moved in July after having worked in the same place for 14 years. We also got a new van after 8 years - although we still have the old one.

Menu: Protein Shake for breakfast

L: going out for a lunch with some of my brokers and co-workers.

D: Not sure what I'm having. I bought stuffed chicken breasts for everything me else and haven't checked the stats yet.

Accountability- food was much improved yesterday but exercise didn't happen

It will happen today though and so will vitamins and water. I did really well with water yesterday.

Have a great day everyone!

I am on VACAAAAAATIOOOOOON! And I am not going bac****il January 2nd. I am thrilled. This has been quite a month...

Oomph--IKEA the Friday before Christmas, huh? I think the best advice is to use the store shortcuts to skip to exactly where you need to go and not try to navigate the entire store. But that is easier when you go every day and know your way around. I am heading over today, myself #ikeaeveryday :)

Today is a little up in the air. I am not sure if I am gong to into the city this afternoon for a wine party with my team. On one hand I would really like to go and relax with them, but on the other hand, I will have to pay like $30+ to either park or take the train, just to hang out with my coworkers on my first day off...

Anyway, depending on whether I go or not, changes my menu, but here is the start:

B: Fit Frappe Mocha Protein Coffee (x2)

S1: Egg and Veggie cake with shredded cheese

L: Mini Pesto Meatballs

S2: TBD

D: TBD

QOTD: My year was exciting! I moved in with Grim! I got a huge promotion! I got kittens! I went to Paris!

There were some rough times, too, but this was a year filled with new adventures

It's $30 for the train in and out and minimum of $36 to park. Boston's parking situation is literally the worst. I make a great salary and spend 1/2 of it on transportation. Not to mention the thousands of parking tickets I get... Every time I travel elsewhere in the US and see $5 parking in a garage for the whole day I want to cry.

Fun! I have a conference the following weekend that I need to travel for, so I am not sure I can do two weekends in a row away, but I will keep it on the calendar and see if we can make it happen. There are some 1 day charter bus trips that might be an option... :)

Good morning Teena and menu folks! I am feeling the holiday spirit and have no desire to be in the office working. I am planning to work at home a few hours Friday morning and then to spend the rest of the day finishing up some baking. I love baking for the holidays and I give away almost all of it. I like making some standards and also trying some new recipes. I've already make 5 kinds of fudge, snickerdoodles, chocolate chip and ginger cookies. Also pumpkin and ginger bread mini loaves and mini chocolate cakes with cherries. I'd like to make a dried cherry and cardamom bread, cranberry-orange bread and try my hand at angel food cake. If I manage it, I'd like to try the Pumpkin Protein pie that was posted here on OH to take for our family Christmas dinner.

I'm proud of myself that I have done pretty well with resisting the tempting foods that are everywhere, including my house. I've focused on filling up on my dense protein first and then adding in my veggies and some fruit. I am really on a blueberry kick. They taste so good to me, but I am trying to limit them to a cup a day so that I don't get too many carbs.

Yesterday was a difficult day food wise. I had forgotten that we had our departmental holiday party at lunch yesterday. I thought about skipping but I had to buy the tickets so I decided to go. I was careful to choose protein and veggies, but it didn't work out well. I had some cheese, nuts, carrots, 2 meatballs, a few shrimp, kale salad, and a few bites of potato casserole. All of these are things that I've had and not had problems with. I don't know what happened, but I got REALLY sick. Before the end of the meal I thought that I was going to throw up. I managed to get home without being sick, but I went to bed and sipped ginger tea all evening. I feel mostly better this morning, but it is a lesson that sometimes food just isn't going to go down well.

QOTD: I certainly have had alot of change this year too with having RNY 2/28. I've had to learn so many things about being healthy. The word that comes to mind for me is gratitude. I am so grateful for all that I have been given this year. It is amazing!

Menu:

Breakfast: hard boiled egg, 1/2 cup plain oatmeal

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake

Lunch: salmon, baby carrots

Snack: turkey breast

Dinner: shrimp

Exercise: I'd like to go swimming this evening, but I'm afraid there will be errands instead

I've made that protein pumpkin pie several times now. No one would confuse it with real pumpkin pie, but it's not bad. I like having a piece at night sometimes with a couple of tablespoons of sugar free Cool Whip on it (the Cool Whip makes it, I think). I don't always get my proportions right. Sometimes I'll add too much pumpkin spice so then I'll dump some more canned pumpkin into it - and sometimes I make it more or less sweet. The last one I made is really moist (sometimes it's a bit dry) - must have added more pumpkin this time, too.
