So yesterday I finished my 10 day liquid diet. This morning I took the magnesium citrate. Aside from one small soft bowel movement It has not started working yet. I am getting worried that it wont work in time. What will happen if it does not work in time for my surgery in the am?

A good portion of us never does a bowel cleanse. I'd say as long as you follow the "no food after..." guidelines it will be fine.

this is terrible advice. The OP has already taken a prescribed bowel prep.

What you have suggested ,adding extra, laxatives and bowel prep procedures, could cause her to have a ruptured bowel.

Dont ever give advice like this, you don't know what you are talking about.

you gave dangerous advice. Do you have a medical background? I do. 22 years,as a matter of fact.

I will always call out bad advice when people give it. Advice that does not agree with acceptable medical practice.

If that is rude, then so be it.

Liquid diets don't offer much for laxatives to work on. I wouldn't worry too much. As long as you don't have an undigested cheeseburger in your bowels come surgery time you really should be fine.

rofl Nope no cheeseburger lol. I was only aloud to have 2 cups non starch vegetables along with the protein shakes for 10 days. It's working now. lol
