What's on your Tuesday menu RNYers?
QOTD: growing up we would get up really early destroy the house with wrapping paper and toys, make my mom cook breakfast and then wait a few hours and eat again for lunch. now i make breakfast, then DH and I exchange gifts. his christmas choices are a little odd this year and know i can't swing the one (a mini pig) but could possible do the other (a shotgun). i have not bought anything yet- just got my moms online last night.
Food for today:
leftover chili
gelatin/PP combo
coffee
quest chips
dinner i think will be turkey sloppy joes
i also need to cook that ham in the freezer at some point.
Mornin' Menu Crew!
I still have to figure out what to get my mother. Everyone else is taken care of (we do pretty cheap Christmases around here since we're all adults and we all have *more* than what we need - no one ever wants anything else!!). I really don't want to be at work this week, but I'll plow through until at least Thursday. Break is coming!!
accountability was *mostly* good yesterday. I did have a couple of unplanned snacks, so total calories were over by about 100. Weight was up 1.5 lbs this morning (probably sodium - I had cottage cheese for lunch, raw veggies with Greek yogurt dip that was made with ranch seasoning (so there would have been salt in that), and cole slaw with dinner that was made with a sesame-miso vinaigrette (lots of sodium in miso, too). Otherwise, I have no clue would could cause a weight gain - other than one day over the weekend, the last several days have been very good food/calorie-wise). I just wish I could get this damn eight pounds off!! It's a constant battle!
QOTD:
we don't have elaborate Christmases anymore. One year we decided not to do presents because no one wants more "stuff", but we went back to it the following year because having no gifts just seemed weird, I think. We usually just get together at my mom's sometime in the afternoon and open presents (which are often gift certificates) and then have a nice dinner. It's so different from Christmases years ago. I miss those...
2 years 6 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt mixed with 1 T apple butter, topped with 2 T high fiber cereal
S: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax latte shake
L: Greek yogurt, celery stalks with 2 T peanut butter
D: either chicken salad or pork chop with veggies
ex: either yoga or gym (gym if DH is up for going, otherwise, yoga..)
I miss the Christmases when my kids were young. I wish I had grandchildren, but it looks like there may not be any...

I know I have been sporadic here... just been overdone with the long week last week at hospice and our friends passing. Took a pajama day Sunday. Yesterday it took me 2 hours to get home from the wake, because of traffic.... in what was a 45 minute ride. Oy. Today is the funeral. So hard for my sister not to be here. My heart breaks for her.
QOTD: Christmas Morning we always read the Christmas Story from Luke in the Bible, and ate breakfast at a fancy table set with my grandmother's China.
B: usual latte, lite English muffin w/PB
L: most likely out after funeral
D: Roast Chicken, green beans
S: Quest Bar, Greek yogurt
ex: probably nada but if I have time may go to gym.

Good Morning! I know I can't complain about it as many of you are dealing with much colder temps, but at the end of the week we will be getting some chilly temps for our area (lows in the 20s and a high of 50 on Thursday whereas today low was around 39 and high of 65)--brrrrr!
QOTD: We tend to change things up a bit, sometimes have my MIL over for breakfast on Christmas morning but for last few years we have gone to her place Christmas-Eve for a little bit. This year we are planning to go to her house Saturday and then celebrate our Christmas on Christmas-Eve so on Monday we can relax and maybe even get the tree put away and all that. For the past 10 plus years we have waited until New Years Eve to celebrate with my sister, BIL and nephew-so that is always fun too!
Accountability: Yesterday was good, in the evening I had a decaf coffee and avoided any unplanned snacks.
Time since surgery: 3 years 4 months
B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links
L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots
S: Salami, Carbmaster yogurt, and mixed nuts
D: Spaghetti squash casserole and ½ c cottage cheese
ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with SF apple butter and ¼ cup fiber cereal
E: 6 miles ran this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch
V/W: On track
Totals: Cals:1126 Protein:124 Carbs:68 Fat:44
Have a great one!
Good morning! Menu:
B: tuna/cucumber/cottage cheese mix. 134 calories, 24 g protein, 6 g carbs, 2g fat. Not bad
MS: likely nothing because there's a work pot luck today
L: Pot luck lunch. I'll behave but I'll be saving a few calories from snacks to try protein-forward offerings. I smell a few crock pot meatballs etc. so that'll happen, but I'll behave. I've been surprisingly good with resisting the seasonal stuff around here, which surprises me a bit.
AS: I won't need one but I've got ff greek yogurt with cantaloupe chunks in it if I really need something. But I won't. LOL
S: Unknown but maybe nothing.
ES: water and decaf. Trying to slam the last couple of pounds to meet goal by Christmas. If I don't, I don't. But it won't be because lardbutt brain is taking over.
QOTD: We give Christmas Eve jammies to the girls before bed. THis year we are travelling to Myrtle Beach for a week, and Christmas Eve will be in a hotel in Winston-Salem. That's a first. I've been home every year. Of course on a couple of occasions I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in a fuel truck at the CN train yard, filling engines with diesel, but I was home for a reheated meal and a little visit before the on-call phone went off again. I'm so grateful to not have that now.
Funny story....on my windy walk into work this morning, I saw a guy on a bike, on an icy sidewalk, riding with one hand steering. The other had a 40" TV tucked under his arm and he was trying to navigate things, very slowly. On his steering arm? A cast from elbow to wrist. I'm guessing then that he's done that ride before. LOL
That won't end well. Sure made me chuckle though. Can't fix stupid.
