3 days post op... food question
I had my surgery on 12/13! Everything went well! No leaks, healing good. Was released and sent home yesterday. In write a bit of pain, but handling it! I'm not sure what I'm suppose to be eating!! My manual says "modified liquids", but there's no explanation of whay that means! Any help would be appreciated!!
A is protein shakes. I recommend the Premiere Protein. 11oz /30 grams protein and only 160 calories.
B would be smooth soups. I ate a lot of cream of chicken and added lemon.
It would take me an hour just to get 1 protein shake down.
Also remember your fluids. Luckily water will be the number 1 ingredient in anything you "eat" but drink as much as you can.
For the first week I was on liquids. I did protein shakes, SF popsicles, SF Gatorade and broth. I also drank alot of herbal tea because the warm liquid felt good. But you need to contact your surgeon's office and find out what they mean. Each office is different, so you need to find out what they want you to do.

Congratulations on a successful surgery.
I mostly just had protein shakes, clear broth, and herbal tea for the first week after surgery. I was allowed jello but only tried it once.
Can you give your center a call to ask what they mean?
