QOTD: I'm "retired" now, but when I worked I was manager of a picture framing shop and Christmastime was our busiest time of the year. I always had people coming in wanting last minute framing jobs done and I wasn't very good about saying "No". Our shop was in a large store that stayed open 24 hours a day so I would often wor****il 2 or 3 in the morning trying to get orders done. I would burn myself out so badly that I ended up staying up until the wee hours of the morning Christmas Eve wrapping Saralisa's presents. One year I was so sleep-deprived that I fell asleep while she was opening her presents on Christmas morning and the poor little girl sat there opening presents all by herself while I slept through it. After that year I tried to put a deadline on orders so that I wouldn't burn myself out trying to get Christmas orders done. Some people got mad that I wouldn't frame their picture the day before Christmas, but my daughter had to come first.
