Good morning! I'm so glad it's Friday I could barf. It's been a long week. Between workload, union representation (for people I'd sooner figuratively hit with a mallet because they don't seem to know how to do their job), very cold walks with uncleared sidewalks, and sporadic sleep, I'm ready for Christmas to happen. I'm just ready to find rest. Having said that, this morning I woke up to being only 2.3 lbs above my original goal. Almost there. Hoping for goal by Christmas, and that will be the best gift I could ever receive.
Accountability: Still successful in resisting any of the baked goods and garbage here at work. I was tempted yesterday really bad, but didn't cave. I did have some couscous (about 1/2 cup) with my curried chicken last night and it sat well.
Menu: Protein shake for breakfast, MS 1/2 cup ff greek with 1/4 cup bran fibre cereal mixed in. Lunch is the last of the soup I've been eating all week. AS: 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese mixed with 1/3 cup broccoli/cauliflower stirred in. Supper will likely be the rest of the curried chicken in the fridge and some salad.
Way to go!

starting today, I'm lowering my calories. I also went to the gym last night and will go again today. I used to go 4-5x a week and have gotten out of the habit. Once or twice a week is not doing it for me. It could be that with the extra gym time, 1700 kcal/day (my maintenance level for the last year or so) will be fine - but I'm lowering the calories just in case. I've got to get rid of this damn eight pounds!! (by the way - I've discovered that fat keeps me going longer than either protein & fiber do (I've tried using all three on big pouch days). I've had 2 T of peanut butter on celery sticks as a snack the last couple of days, and wow - I'm not hungry for several hours afterward. I definitely need to incorporate more fat into my diet....)
accountability was good yesterday, but still at 148 lbs. Ugh. This is driving me nuts.
QOTD: I always take Christmas week - and/or New Year's week - off, but we're always in town so every year I tell the scheduler that I can come in for a reference desk shift if he's desperate for coverage. But I think I've only been called in maybe once or twice during my 16 years of working there. Hopefully I won't get called in this year, either...but if I do, hey, it's probably my last year of working there!!!
I'm speaking to a pre-op group later on this morning - YAY! I love doing this. I thought they might want some new blood next year so I offered to be a backup in case someone can't come in at the last minute, but they wrote back and told me they want me to come every time next year, too. Great! I don't mind at all and in fact offered to do it, but I did tell them that if they wanted to use some new people, that was totally fine & understandable, but to keep me in mind for a backup - but no, they want me to keep doing it. They also asked if I might be interested in volunteering for some projects they have in mind after I retire. Absolutely!! Doing this kind of stuff is yet another incentive for me to keep my weight off, so I'm very happy to do whatever I can!
2 years 6 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt, 1 T blueberry sauce, raspberries
S: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax shake
L: if I have time before I run over to the clinic, then 1 C cottage cheese. If not, a protein bar
D: leftover fajitas (chicken & veggies only)
probably another yogurt later
ex: 30 minutes on the cross-trainer. May go to a yoga class as well.
Good Morning and Happy Friday. I am hoping today goes by pretty quick-it has felt like a long week and I have had many meetings this week on top of being our most stressful time of year. We are supposed to take my sister and BIL to Ikea tomorrow (they have never been) but Em seems to have this cold (she is heading off to school since it's the last day before Christmas break so there are gift exchanges with friends and parties to be had) so just have to play it by ear I guess.
QOTD: Nope, I take time around Thanksgiving. We are pretty much in "black-out" for vacation requests from mid-December to end of January but do allow a few people to take Christmas-eve (not an issue this year) or the day after off but I prefer the whole week of Thanksgiving instead.
Accountability: I ate an unplanned pack of Protein cake bites
Time since surgery: 3 years 4 months
B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links
L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots
S: Salami snack cup, Carbmaster yogurt, and mixed nuts

E: An hour stair climber this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch

Have a great one!
I came across the pic 2010 from our company Holiday party yesterday and it shocked me so I did a side by side comparison pic for today.
