Didn't so so good yesterday. It was date night and hubby wanted Mexican. Not really any good choices, but tried to be smart, but then a piece of fruitcake??? Wha????? Must. Do. Better.

QOTD: I usually have a week of vacay at Christmas but had to break up my time to cover Dr appts. So just have day after:(

Here is a photo of me on our vacay in September at grandfather mountain and Boone NC. Not very flattering, but it is what it is.

Have a great Friday! !

I lived in Boone for five years and in Banner Elk for two! My brother still lives in the area (out in the sticks - about 20 miles from Boone). It's beautiful there!

We enjoyed our time there,we rode up and down the parkway, went to blowing rock, etc. Ended up on Appalachian univ campus right when kids were changing classes. Boy, that was something!

I got my BS there - and so did my brother. And my father was a professor there!

Blowing Rock is very nice. Really packed during tourist season, though! (well, all those towns are - but esp Blowing Rock, it seems...)

Good morning menu folks! Another chilly one in Illinois but Lily and I have our 4 miles in. We'll do another mile around supper. Accountability was good--supper changed as we were out but I had grilled lemon pepper tilapia and green beans so was WLS friendly. Second walk was done in Walmart while we shopped. Bedtime urge to keep eating was handled by knitting--it works great. QOTD we've never taken extra time off at the holidays. Post op 5 years 3.5 months and weight at 118.6 today. Here's the food for maintenance B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz grilled tilapia 1/2 c green beans(leftovers from dinner) D 31/2 oz lamb gyro meat with cucumber sauce and tomato slices S protein bar. Have a great day all and make your best choices. Picture is me yesterday. Lily made it in the background too!

I've been thinking about taking a knitting class. I was thinking doing something that keeps my hands busy might help with the nighttime eating....

It has definetely helped me. I have a dual purpose too. I'm making shawls to be taken to homebound church members or anyone who needs to feel loved or comforted. Keeps my hands busy and allows another person who needs it to feel loved and special.
