Being there and caring for a person as they die is profound. It is every bit as deep and holy as when a baby comes into the world, though of course not joyous. Get some extra rest of you can, it takes a toll, no matter how willing we are, to walk to the edge with the dying. Bathing or showering can lift off a little of the solemnity and make it easier to reenter normal life. It was very kind of you to help.
when I am well past my father's death (as in emotionally), I want to volunteer at hospice. They were so great when my father died. They sat vigil with my brother the last couple of days. They were there in case my brother needed to leave, and they were there with him while he sat at my father's side. It meant so much to my brother to have them there - and had he known, I know my father would have been glad they were there, too. My point being, I'm sure your being there was very important to both her and her family.
Good Morning and happy Friday-Eve! The concert last night was quick but nice-it's always great to see Em play with her group of friends and enjoy the time together.
Thank you all for the well wishes that this cold goes away. It is definitely a strange one and it's almost like I am not getting "full blown sick" but it's lingering and sometimes throughout the day I just crash and feel pretty miserable for a few hours (including chills and body aches). Hubby has been dealing with the same so I know it's some sort of virus and I am thankful that it hasn't completely knocked me on my booty :)
QOTD: My running shoes. I always feel kind of guilty spending the money on them when I have to buy them but I also think they are very important to have in order to avoid potential injuries.
Accountability: Added a PB&J on low-carb Lavash bread when we got home from the concert.
