Whatâ??s on your Wednesday menu RNYers?
Good morning! I walked in again today, though I looked at the temperature, and it said it felt like -20. Almost passed and took a bus but...that's why I bought good winter gear. So away I went. It was actually not that bad, and I had a good think-time while I looked at the lights some people forgot to turn off the night before.
Menu: Protein shake for breakfast, Oikos 000 with a couple spoonfuls of raw oatmeal mixed in (fibre boost with a bit of substance) for morning and afternoon snack, and a bowl of my wife's soup for lunch. Not sure about supper. Maybe just a "snack plate" (cheese, meat, sliced cucumbers and a few triscuit thins). I've got my last drum lessons before Christmas tonight, and I'm looking forward to the break as much as they are. They're really great kids, don't get me wrong, but it frees up a couple of nights a week for 3 weeks, to be with family. Really looking forward to that.
Lately I've not been too inclined to go out for exercise at night (largely because I'm already walking 2.5 hours a day commuting) but I want to go around my neighbourhood with the kids this Christmas. There's a light tour and our neighbourhood is always featured because a lot of us are nuts with the decorations. It's always cool to see what is out there, but my favourite is still the full-size "leg lamp" in the one front window on a nearby street. Always makes me chuckle, and I would LOVE to find one. I have a feeling that the same argument (and "accident") in the movie would happen in my house.
QOTD: I do Christmas cards. This year we had family photos done (for the first time, as I've never been one for photographs, as you may tell, LOL) and Costco made them into a nice Christmas card.
Have a great day!
Good morning,
Kids are so funny. I'm babysitting this week, the little boy didn't want to go home yesterday but on Monday he wanted me to take him home before grandma got here. I tried to explain I didn't have a car seat for him. Will see what today brings.
Qotd this year I didn't. I usually do.
B ham and cheese omelette and string cheese
L tuna, cottage cheese and honeycrisp apple
D roast beef and cauliflower in cheese sauce
Have a good day

Good morning all~ Californian has strange winter weather. This morning it was 37 driving in and it will get up to 82 today. It's all about layers. Then again, I'm always cold so the sweater stays on all day even when it's 80. I am trying hard to get into the Christmas spirit, so I actually wrapped Christmas presents last night and put them under the tree! I'm usually a last minute wrapper - like on Christmas eve they will finally make an appearance. I even picked up a few new Christmas decorations and brought some in to my office as well.
QOTD - I haven't sent out Christmas cards for a few years now. I don't know why I gave them up, but I may start again - maybe next year? Yeah, next year...
Accountability - there were more pork rinds and some almonds - I wish I could block these things out of my mind. I mean, we have much worse things in the house to eat. But because I feel these are acceptable foods that in moderation would be okay in maintenance (only i'm not IN maintenance yet) I still justify them now, like - well they aren't cheese-its or Doritos...ugh.
1 year post op - 164.2 -yup it goes up and up...
b-coffee w/h****d coffee w/hh, HB eggs
l-chicken drumsticks
d-cheese omelette
v/l - on track
Have a great day everyone!

Posting late as we just got home from camping. And yes it is freezing here in Illinois but with the heater running it was toasty in the camper. Lily and I did lots of hiking even though we had to bundle up. Yesterday we saw 2 eagles and watched one swoop down and catch a fish from the lake. Today we saw 7 deer standing staring at us as we walked through on the trail. We walked about 5 miles this morning and Lily loved it. Accountability was great. QOTD we don't really do Christmas cards and never have. Post op 5 years 3.5 months and weight at 119 today. Heres the food B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1 poached egg with canadian bacon D 31/2 oz pork cutlet with 1/2 c cauliflower S sm apple with 1 T peanut butter. Have a great day all!
Glad that you and Lily got to do some hiking!

Hi all, happy Wednesday!
Busy next few days, trying to finish everything up workwise, etc. so I can just enjoy Christmas without stressing. I'm having some friends over for dinner next week, and am trying to figure out what to make. I have a couple of gorgeous Le Creuset pots that I would like to use, so I was thinking maybe I would make Boeuf Bourguinon. People enjoy it and it's warm and hearty so a good choice for winter. It improves with time and freezes well, so I can make it ahead of time and freeze small portions for future meals if I don't just send it all home with my guests. Plus my beautiful pots will get a rare workout, alleviating a twinge of guilt I feel about their expense, given how infrequently they're used. I love beautiful kitchenware and the sense of luxury I experience from a well-appointed kitchen, but it's actually kind of weird because to be honest, I'm not really that much into cooking.
QOTD: I don't send Christmas cards out every year and this is one of those years. I make them when I do send them, though. I will send two cards however, to two people i particularly need to reconnect with and have been thinking of; in one case fences need to be mended, and in the other, I just want to reconnect.
I would have posted earlier, but my power was out.
First: Tea with cashew milk, protein drinki
B: Turkey, cheddare
L: Roast Beeff
D: Not sure yet, protein forward thoigh.
Stay warm, my friends!
