Good morning RnYers! Happy Tuesday!

I'm working but have the news on - I'm interested in the Alabama election. I've become much, much more politically aware and educated over the last decade or so - but even I need to take a break once in a while, when I feel the behaviors of the politically powerful have become particularly egregious. But today I'm just keenly interested!

I'm fine and safe as the insane fire danger continues here. I am concerned for my brother's home, but these things are so big and so wild that there is little for me to do about my worry except pray and help where I see I can. We are at 20% containment today - fingers crossed. I wish I knew some sort of genuine weather magic, we really, really need rain! As someone who grew up where water simply falls from the sky every few days, after all this time, I'm still not completely used to our long dry season (and of course, despite last year's comparatively wet winter, Santa Barbara county did not fully emerge from drought, following 4-5 years of minimal precipitation).

QOTD: I've had people driving in front of me pay for various tolls, which is kind of adorable and fun to receive! I try to be relaxed and calm while driving and let people in, let them pass, etc. I am very rarely in such a hurry that that can't be done, and these little things help everyone to have an incrementally better day. I had an online person I was chatting with about 20 years ago give me a round trip ticket to visit a friend. The gift-giver was a lawyer who had (literally) about million mile points racked up, enough so that he would likely never be able to take the time to use them all - nevertheless it was extremely kind of him. When I got back home I did meet him for dinner. He was an extremely nice person, not really my type nor I his, but he had a very fine and sweet character.

First: coffee with cashew milk, vanilla protein drink

B: BBQ pulled chicken

L: going to try an egg again

D: roast beef, green beans

Have a lovely day, everyone!

Thank you Amy! I will stay safe. I hope that your Christmas with your son will be full and rich with joyful future memories! What is his first name? I will remember him in my prayers, as he actively enters the military. Enjoy every Christmas-y moment!
