Early out - especially the first week but even through week three - our surgeon's concern was more about making sure we stayed hydrated than getting in a specific amount of protein. By the time I got to week four I was easily able to get 60 grams down with shakes.

Hey Oshi! I had my surgery on the 23rd and have just started soft foods. Your liquid phase is a lot longer than mine but do what the doc says! My big tip is to mix Pho broth(Campbell's makes one) and low or no salt chicken broth. OMG it was a taste sensation when I was on liquids. Congrats on all that poundage gone, gone, gone!!

I was not a fast loser but who cares as long as you get there! I know the newbies check the trackers and the signatures so although I kind of lost track of how the rest of the weight came off, you should know that it was not fast and furious but it was slow and steady!

current BMI 24.7 that, my friends, is NORMAL!!! Strong is the new pretty!

I remember being on clear liquids and mixed protein powder with hot broth. It cuddled and I was so desperate for something non-liquid that I decided to pretend the curds were noodles.

Within a minute after eating that I had su*****redible pain in my chest that I thought I was dying. I was alone with my cats and they both came and laid next to me. I felt bad for my husband who would be coming home in a few minutes and finding me dead.

After 15 minutes the pain went away. I realize now that I was too swollen for anything but clear liquid at five days out. Maybe you are healed enough for solids and maybe you were spared a lot of pain.

Yikes! That would be so scary! I know there are good reasons for my Dr keeping me on clear liquids. I did the same thing with the broth and it curdled! My dietician said you need to slowly stir it in and it worked but the taste????. A couple of more days and at least I can have blended creamed soups?I know it's all gonna be worth it in the end!!
