Sugar free Torani syrup - how much and where?
In the past couple of weeks I saw some posts about the SF syrups and it got me interested. In my area I hadn't seen them so went to cost plus and got 3 flavors : brown sugar cinnamon, toffee, salted caramel. They sound delish, right? I think I'm using them wrong. In my coffee (12 oz) a tablespoon of the syrup was bitter, like I could taste the "fakeness" of it. In my vanilla protein smoothie (32 oz) I didn't even taste it and I used two tablespoons. So, I'm wondering where do you use your syrup and what is the ratio of syrup to liquid?
Thanks!

Hey Sheila, You know it's really personal taste and some flavors are more potent than others, also some shakes are sweeter so that will change how much you need. I use SF Vanilla in my coffee and I use 3 pumps to a 12 oz cup and 2 in tea. SF Vanilla is the sweetest IMHO.
Here are some shake recipes if that will help https://www.pinterest.com/eggface/protein-shakes-and-smoothi es/
I also cook with it so if you scroll through my blog you'll see lots of recipes (protein cake, muffins, protein granola, etc. with it) www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com

For me - if the flavor is really strong I will use less and add a splenda if I need it sweeter or mix with another softer flavor. For instance - gingerbread is strong and bitter, so I will do half gingerbread - half vanilla - to taste. Salted caramel is one I will use a smaller amount (it can be a little overwhelming) and add a splenda.
Everyone is different. I played around with it until I found what I liked and threw out many horrible failure cups in the process!
