What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
Morning weekenders!
my favourite time of the week is early morning catching up on oh posts!
Hope everyone who celebrates American thanksgiving had a great time! We're having a turkey dinner today too. Super small group, just 6 of us. It's good not to be a lazy, eat turkey, watch Christmas shows and work on a puzzle kind of day.
And this morning, friends of ours are hosting a holiday breakfast, and we're going to take that in too! After posting, I'll be making scones to bring.
qotd: are you a Black Friday shopper? It's getting pretty big in Canada, but the deals aren't amazing or anything. Definitely not enough to get me out there dealing with the madness! My office is across from a tanger outlet, and I was mesmerized watching the steady stream of cars pouring in. They had police directing traffic. It was crazy!
menu:
B: coffee at home. Then whatever meat or egg dish is at this open house.
L/D turkey, gravy. Maybe some veg. Coleslaw. For appetizers, I bought some meats and cheeses.
have a good one!

Up early here too. Youngest son who lives with us and works for the water department got called out last night for a water main break. They have to go in today to dig a hole and fix it so he needed up at 6. Lily and I got up at 445 to walk so we'd be back in time and got our 3.8 miles in in the dark. We'll do another mile after supper. QOTD no I stay home on Black Friday as the mobs of people make me crazy. It's just things people and none of them are that important in the big picture. Post op 5 years 3 months and weight at 119.4 today. The different foods of the holiday and extra salt have me up a bit. Also didn't drink enough yesterday so that's the goal for today. Accountability was fair but I was busy and didn't get my extra mile in. Heres the food for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 31/2 oz black forest ham with 2 halves of deviled egg D 31/2 oz burger patty 1/2 c spinach S 2 meat sticks and 1 slice provolone. Have a great day everybody and make some conscious choices that move you toward your goals!
Good morning weekenders! It's cold, but I finally have some warm sweaters and shirts since we went shopping yesterday. We went out early and just went to Penneys and Walmart and got done pretty quickly. I'm not a big shopper, but I needed some warm things and they had good prices.
Accountability: I had half a piece of pumpkin pie and it tasted good, but I threw out the rest of the dressing and mashed potatoes after they made me sick on Thursday.
Menu:
Breakfast: scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, 1/2 cup oatmeal
Snack: Premier protein shake
Lunch: Hamburger
Snack: 2 oz turkey breast, baby carrots
Dinner: ham, baby carrots

Good morning! We are going to Ft Myers beach to view a sand sculpting competition today (our friend competes as an advanced amateur). It is supposed to be sunny and 78 degrees here today.
QOTD: Nope, no Black Friday shopping for me! We did go to Walmart late in the day (after the Black Friday shoppers) to pick up a few household things and some food (including a turkey we are going to roast tomorrow- eating at a friends meant no leftovers!).
1 year, 8 months post-op, maintenance:
B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese, and Canadian bacon
L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: Out to dinner somewhere... probably fish
S: cheese sticks

So funny I was thinking the same thing - buy a small turkey, because I miss the leftovers.

I do shop Black Friday some years but as I say 'strategically- a plan to get there when the crowds tthin a little. I usually like to go to the outlets. Yesterday I made a quick trip to Target, bought $50 worth of food, so I could get their 20% off a future order coupon.
Food?
Usual Latte, flax muffin egg and cheese
last of the Costco chicken salad - I did add Buffalo sauce and a little blue cheese dressing yesterday... and it was good.
After that TBD.
Snacks- probably Greek yogurt and Premier with more coffee

I did very well yesterday, but my weight hasn't dropped. Might have been salty food, though (like leftover stuffing - and the gravy). No Thanksgiving leftovers today, though, since we're off to Chicago (but that means restaurant eating, which can be just as bad sodium-wise...). One of our kitties has been sick the last couple of days (although is *much* better today), so we're planning on coming back tonight rather than spending the weekend there. I just don't want her getting sick again and having us be out of town.
QOTD: I usually avoid Black Friday like the plague because I hate crowds and I'm not really much of a shopper in the first place, but last night I went back to World Market because some of things I bought with a 25% off coupon on Wednesday were even cheaper yesterday (they'll give you the lower price if the price drops within 10 days after your purchase). We didn't get over there until after 8:00 pm, so it was fine. Whew.
2 years 5 months out:
B: homemade plain Greek yogurt with 2 T Smucker's SF Red Raspberry preserves (forgot I had this - it was actually really good on the yogurt!)
S: coffee with half & half, pumpkin vanilla protein/Miralax latte shake
L: ?? (I have a couple of protein bars with me just in case)
D: ??
Good morning... Today is hubby's birthday and he has requested a lay low day. Emily and her friends are going out for breakfast and hanging out so I am fine with lay low I have lots of work work to do. I am still fighting this headache that is turning into a cold.
QOTD: Emily and I are usually all over the Black Friday Shopping but the friend she brought home for Thanksgiving hates to shop... So I did order a few things online from Kohl's but other than that I did nothing... Which makes me sad I love Black Friday shopping.
Menu for the day:
B: Coffee and tea bacon and egg white
L BBQ brisket.
D: taking hubby out so I am not sure where he is going to pick but I am sure I will pick a steak or something like that.
Have a great day Friends.
Hope you feel better soon! Take good care!

Good Morning Erin and Menu Family!
I've had a horrible pain in my back the past two days. I can barely stand upright or walk. Last time I had this the doctor said it was a pulled muscle, but I can't think of anything I could've done to pull a muscle. Anyway, I did not take Blossom for a walk the past two days and may not today either.
QOTD: I don't like crowds so I definitely stayed home yesterday. However I did buy some things online.
Accountability: My two Thanksgiving "pig-out" dinners have caught up with me. I'm up two pounds. Yesterday: Protein - 57, Calories - 915, Carbs - 96.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt
L: homemade chili
D: more chili
S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, banana, 2 Atkin's peanut butter cups
E: Depends on my back, maybe take Blossom for a walk.
Have a WONDERFUL day everyone!
