What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
Well since I hit my first big goal of 100 lbs loss I made myself a Mexican casserole. Light creamcheese bottom layer, then refried beans, then lean ground beef taco meat then reduced fat mexican cheese and topped with reduced fat sour cream and salsa. That was my dinner and while I only ate 2-3 oz, it was so tasty. Also for lunch I had 2 deviled eggs.
A bit of a wash posting this late but it's been a weird day and I'm finally somewhat relaxed and checking in here. DH was in pain all night and this morning told me it was his hernia, which was bulging out. Seriously, it looked like he had a softball under his skin. His surgeon did a quick/temporary repair at the same time he had his RNY, hoping he could get by until the weight was off and he could do plastics for skin removal and full hernia repair at the same time. The ER doctor was able to pop the tissue back inside the abdominal wall manually (which involved a lot of discomfort and pain followed by heavy pain drugs) , but he's been admitted for observation to make sure there was no strangulation of the bowel. Bariatric surgeon has been contacted and was on standby if surgery was necessary, but it's looking like he'll be fine without it. It's up in the air if he's staying or leaving tonight. I think they were waiting to see if he kept dinner down (they served him a turkey dinner---turkey, stuffing, broccoli, dinner roll and applesauce. He ate the turkey and a bite or two each of the stuffing and applesauce. He hates broccoli with passion.)
qodt: I cant wait to share my NSVs!
eats for today: I had coffee in the ER room, a turkey and Swiss deli wrap from the hospital cafeteria, and I ate the parts of his hospital dinner that he didn't eat--broccoli, stuffing, applesauce, and I took a bite out of the driest dinner roll I've ever had in my life. Thought I'd choke on it. There's a water/ice machine near his room so I've been good on water today.
