Mornin' All!

Got home from Vermont late last night. I'm having a hard time getting going this morning, although I'm not planning to go into wor****il noon (vet appt for one of my cats at 10:00 - she's getting some x-rays to see if she has arthritis).

Gained two pounds on my trip. Crap. I hope it's mostly sodium so it'll come off quickly. I really need to watch in the next few days, although I already somewhat blew it and had two containers of yogurt his morning. Although I should be able to make that up if I'm careful the rest of the day. I have GOT to get back to a normal routine...

QOTD: I think people are friendlier towards me. I'm not always sure how to interpret it when it comes to men, though - I'm so not used to this!!

2 years 5 months out:

B: Greek yogurt (two) with high fiber cereal

S: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax latte shake

L: cottage cheese

D: chicken breast, salad, wild rice (will have just 1/4 C, if any at all) (this is a dinner meeting for this organization I'm in)

this should be OK as long as I don't stray......

Another brisk day here in Illinois--32 with a strong wind but Lily and I got 3.8 miles done already. We will do another mile after supper too. Accountability yesterday was good with no extra bites taken. Post op 5 years 2.5 months and weight at 118 today. QOTD I was definetely treated different as an obese person both by medical staff and strangers. I was not diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis with symptoms present for 6 or so years because all doctors could see was my weight. By the time an orthopedic doctor would scope my knees the damage was long done--there was zero cartilage left so I ended up with partial knee replacements at age 32. As a normal weight person people smile more and hold doors open and no one inspects my grocery cart in the store anymore either. I can't say I miss that. Some of the differences may be due to changes in me too--hubby says I have an attitude now--I don't mince words. If I'm thinking something you'll know it and I am generally happier. Heres my food for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1 c ham and beans D 31/2 oz chicken marsala 1/2 c green beans S sm apple with 1T peanut butter. Have a great day and make smart choices that move you closer to your goals. I know todays not Friday but I feel pretty, strong and warm today so here's a picture.

Good Morning!

Just got my 1-year labs back and my ferritin has dropped down to 20 again. It was over 100 in May, a month after 3 iron infusions. All the rest of my iron labs look good, but since I'm starting to feel the (now familiar) symptoms of extreme cold, headache, and fogginess, my hematologist was on board with me getting the infusions again. Looking forward to feeling better!

QOTD: Like Teena, I don't feel like people treat me any differently that I've noticed --which I guess is good. I think I was a pretty jolly looking fat person. :)

Accountability: I was over on my calories yesterday by about 150, but my carbs were good. 40 grams.

Menu:

B: coffee with fairlife whole milk

L: 2 HB eggs, tomatoes and peppers

S: greek yogurt with 1/4 cup blueberries

S2: protein shake

D: not sure, may just have lunch meat cheese roll ups.

Cheers!

Karen

Hi Everyone,

QOTD: I am treated differently especially by strangers. I don't recall ever having anyone jump to hold a door open for me or start random conversations with me while waiting in line etc. I remember being ignored all the time. It's so sad. It makes me go out of my way to be friendly to MO people I come across... don't know if that's good or bad but I just never realized how ignored I was.. even people I've seen at work for years that never said a word to me say hi now.. it galls me that I now am recognized but wasn't noticed then. Oh well.

Accountability: Yesterday I was right on track all day.

B: lots of coffee premier protein and sf torani, mozz. prosciutto roll

L: prosciutto, babybel

S: leftover grilled chicken with no cal dressing and carrots, protein hot chocolate

D: sirloin steak, broccoli

calories 954, protein 154, carbs 16, fat 33

Good morning all~ Went to get my labs done this morning for my one year appt on Friday. The lab tech was also a patient of my Dr and had the sleeve a year ago June. She has only lost 55 pounds and was shocked that I had lost 140 in one year and asked me how I did it. I told her I stuck to dense protein, weighed and measured everything, came on OH.... She just shrugged it off and said the NP told her because she ate so healthy prior to surgery, that it would be harder for her to lose. Huh? Anyway she suffers from terrible GERD now and wishes she had the RNY but doesn't want to go through a revision. I'm sitting there getting 18 gallons of blood drawn, feeling bad for her when I realize just how successful I already am...I hadn't thought about it because I hadn't made it to my goal yet. WOW. Thank you OH family! I would not be where I am without all of you

QOTD - I go through phases about this...at first when my loss was very drastic I felt that people treated me way better - and it really pissed me off. I was invisible before, now this attention? Especially from people I knew, that was the worst. Now that the loss has slowed and I've gotten used to it (everyone has gotten used to the new me as well) I feel people treat me as they would anyone. My PCP physician treats me the same - he is the one that suggested WLS years ago and had done so much to help me with my weight over the years -never judgmental. I've had doctors in the past that were and it was awful.

Accountability - great!

11+ mo post op - 168.9 YES!!! I want to be solidly into the 160's for my appt friday - would love 165!

b-SB latte, coffee w/hc at work

l-taco salad

d- lamb chops
