Happy Monday, RnY peeps!
QOTD: My closet has been at least 80% black for the past 25-30 years or so. I tend to wear black and white/cream, black and tan, black and Amber paisleys, etc. I also feel I look good in clear true pale periwinkle blues, navy, most pinks, many blue greens, and especially some lavender shades. Still, black is what I wear the most, by far.
Maybe 20 years ago, I was hired as part of the entertainment for an advertising agency's Christmas party in NYC. I got dressed for the party, intending to wear a black wrap skirt and black cashmere 3/4 sleeve, V-neck sweater. I put the sweater on and looked at myself in the mirror. All of a sudden I just couldn't stand wearing black for one moment more! Suddenly, instead of looking chic and elegant, it looked old, fatigued and rusty, like an old-school, nonagenarian Greek or Italian widow's habit! I yanked off that sweater and replaced it with hot pink top. Instant improvement! it was like wearing the magical color of a gorgeous perfume instead of a shroud! Of course, everyone else at the party was wearing all black (It was Manhattan, after all), but I felt fabulous in that stunning Schiaparelli pink!
I also have an on-again, off-again love affair with reds. I won't wear red for the longest time, then suddenly one day a clear, true, beautiful red will beckon to me and just look incredibly attractive and amazing. Last time that happened I bought myself a red coat with black velvet collar and cuffs, princess seaming, etc. It is a wonderful Currier and Ives style coat - and it looks great over black boots, black tights, black skirt, and a black top!
In the house I like subtle warm tones like light creamy cafe-au-lait, etc. I don't care for grey walls, they look cold, stern and a bit whale-like to me But I love silvery blues in the bedroom, so restful!
First: tea with cashew milk, Cinnamon Buns protein drink
B: 0.7 oz. turkey, 0.3 oz. Snowdonia Bouncing Berry cheddar
L: 2 oz. ham off the bone
D: 1.6 oz. Ham, a little refried beans, 0.3 oz. Cheese
Have fun today my friends!
