Measurements for cooked food?
Hi everyone
I would like to start cooking food with my husband but I am unsure of the cooked weights. What does everyone do for chicken or ground beef? I have been cooking on my own a meal at time so I can get all of the uncooked weights exact.

The US government in 2012 mandated that the nutrition label info on meat packaging is for the raw, uncooked weights.
Having said that, I weigh mine cooked. I was logging food from before the new standards went into effect, and didn't want to switch. I may be off each time, but I'll be off the same percentage, and that's good enough for me.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

That is why I was asking the question. All nutritional information is based on raw meat in Canada as well. I suppose I will just do what everyone else does and just measure the cooked.
