Thank you for all the kind words. No more crackers or anything like that. I have my popisicles, jello, pudding and some yogurt. I bought cream of chicken from Campbells but I haven't tried it yet. So I have had a shake, jello and stupidly Triscuits but no more. I had some popsicles and plain no flavored yogurt but I had to add cinnamon to it. I couldn't take the blandness. I am staying hydrated. I dry heaved earlier so I have a headache and my stomach is going nuts right now so I am kind of mess right now. I'm just trying to relax and calm down a bit for tonight. I also got cream of wheat. I am very interested in the ricotta bake, that looks deli****hank you for support.

We worry about recovery physically but the Brain and the food can be more of a challenge. Hang in there...

Why plain no flavor yogurt? That stuff is horrible. I used the DAnnon light and fit greek... lot of protein and only 80 calories. Some good flavors, the peach is my favorite. Or us the plain greek and put som protein powder in for flavor. The Syntrax has some amazing flavors. The variety pack is on amazon for like $30, you can try them all that way. I love love love the fuzzy navel. Also you can try the unjury chicken broth protein powder. 20 grams protein for a cup, 100 calories. Stay away feom all carbs, even cream of wheat. It leads to craving more carbs. I have a tiny stomach but I could eat crackers all day long and not feel satisfied. And I would want more.

Agree that this is a head game. But so worth it. You have a very short window to be successful. Keep at it, post and read what others are doing to cope. Definitely go to Eggface. GREAT website.

If you are vomitting or dry heaving, you could have irritated your esophagus or pouch. My program always advised drinking only fluids/shakes for 24 hours after to alleviate inflammation. That may help you feel better.

They make pea and soy protein powder, too, as well as egg protein powder that is lactose free. Someone here told me about the pea powder - I'd never heard of it! Animal sourced protein is always going to be more bio-available due to the structure of the protein. Even without malabsorption people will absorb less of it if it's plant-based, usually. I use whey when I've forgotten to get my pea protein when I am lazy and in a convenience store, and always pay for it badly. Dunno about the other options for RNY, but can't hurt to ask the surgeon's staff, as lactose intolerance is very common post-op if that is what it is.

Watch the crunchy bits...remember you just had surgery, so eating something crunchy like crackers is sort of the equivalent of rubbing sand into a wound. It is really hard, I know, to want to eat something normal. Sugar free clear popsicles were the best thing ever in that regard!

Hang in there, Suzanne, and good luck!

Sugar free popsicles would help a lot with the tactile need to eat.

Look at it this way - right now you're already using up French Fries your body stored that you ate a few years ago. ;)

Thanks for that tip about the french fries. I had some sf popsicles and finally had some plain yogurt but added cinnammon to it. I tried cream of wheat and I made it wrong. I had when I was a little kid but I screwed it up today. I think that's why I was so hungry. Feeling a bit better now. Waiting for the jello to be ready!

You do not want to have crackers. IT gets better although I am having head games at 2 years out.

I am really getting to love Jello and the popsicles. I had cream of wheat so that was good. I've had yogurt. Doing better.
