What's on your PHOTO Friday Menu RNYers?

Yeah! That's wonderful that you can bend your knee now! Funny how we take things like bending knees for granted until they don't work properly.

I bundled up this morning in winter boots, insulated bib overalls, my down parka, toque and mitts, and walked in to work despite the shin splint. It is a lot better now but still bugging me a bit. It was frigid this morning! The gear worked well though. I was toasty warm except my hands and face. Gotta find better gloves and some sort of ski mask. What puzzles me is the number of high school students that don't dress for the weather when they have to wait for a bus. I was never like that, but it seems common sense isn't so common after all. I walked by a girl about 110 lbs, dressed in ripped-through skinny jeans and a cotton sweater. No wonder she looked miserable.
QOTD: My grandfather enlisted for WW2, but was denied because of a slight heart murmur. I'm grateful for his willingness and for the fact that he came home, but his best friend was killed in Holland, and I think he carried that pain for a long time.
My great grandfather was in WWI, but only barely. He went through training, made it to England. Got off the boat, they said "Get back on the boat, war's over" so he never saw battle. He always used to joke that "The Krauts heard he was coming so they surrendered". LOL....I have few memories of him as he died when I was 5, but I have a couple. I found his enlistment papers and a photo of him in full uniform, which is a pretty cool keepsake.
Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.

What a fun story about your great grandfather! And how fortunate that though he was willing, he was spared the trauma of battle. Same for your grandfather! Your great grandfather's photo in uniform and his enlistment papers are treasures.
I am so grateful for the generations that went before us, brave and determined, grown up, not shirking, hard-working, genuine, and kind. I'm so grateful for those who went - and who go - into war to protect and defend. But I am also confounded by the human traits which lead us into armed conflict over and over again, and I pray that at some point we will all learn, every country, every nationality, every ethnicity and religion, how to behave with decency and generosity towards one another, towards all others, and start and end with Do Unto Others. I hope that can be.
Good Morning and Happy Fri-yay! Love your outfit. I am running behind schedule a bit this morning-we are spoiled at our gym and the normal "opener" opens the doors around 3:30 when they technically don't open until 4a. I usually get there around 3:45 but today someone else opened and got there right at 4a....funny how that just kinda throws everything "off" a bit.
Accountability: I have no excuses but another off the rails night. I even went to bed with a tummy ache so I have to wrap my head around this issue.
QOTD: Nobody in my direct family is a vet but a few friends have served and one of my cousins by marriage sons is active right now. I appreciate all that have/had served in any capacity (including spouses/families of those who serve)
