What's on your PHOTO Friday Menu RNYers?
Good morning! I'm late this morning. Wiped out after the trip- so good to be home.
QOTD: Remembrance Day in Canada and Veteran's Day in the US is tomorrow. Do you have anyone in your life that you remember especially on this day? I know my great uncle fought in WW2 but I tend to think about my cousin and his wife who are in the Canadian Armed Forces. My cousin has done several peace keeping tours in Afghanistan, and his wife joined when they had 3 small children. So thankful for what they do. I also love a song by a Canadian songwriter about the importance of the 2 minutes of silence at 11:00.
Accountability: it was good yesterday. I had rotisserie chicken for lunch. Haven't stepped on the scale yet this morning to see how I did while I was away but last night I checked and I think I did ok.
Menu: I am working from home today and not sure what's on my menu tbh. I have no idea what's in the fridge. I might do a protein shake for breakfast just to keep it simple. And maybe Kelly,s egg salad for lunch. Dinner I'm thinking beef stew since the weather turned to winter last night and we even have snow! Yuck.
Have a great day everyone! Here's a pic of yesterday's outfit.
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

Losing the regain! I got this!
Hi all
QOTD: My dad is a vet, so was both my grandfathers. My moms dad was in navy, dad and grandfather in air force. Today I am thinking in particular of a family friend my age who served in the army and the government is not providing disability for him due to severe PTSD and other health issues. To add to the existing PTSD, he was attacked outside of the vet hospital in atlanta last year. A bunch of men attacked him with screwdrivers and he has had many surgeries due to this. Our vets deserve the proper care, and they shouldn't have to fight yet again to get it. END OF RANT.
Last night DH and I went to the Mexican place as it was taco night. Beef and chicken tacos were eaten without shell.I also had 2 bites of beans. they were yummy. and i did have the skinniest holiday starbucks I could find as they were bogo from 2-5.
weight same as yesterday.
food for today:
tuna?
veggies
eggwhites
yogurt
protien cake
not sure on dinner
no pic today

Thank you for your family's service! What your friend went through is terrible, I am truly sorry that he experienced such cruelty. I 100% agree with you about what our gets deserve! A physician I know (he is the brother of a dear friend) has done something so necessary and so brave for vets. He put his career completely on the line as a whistleblower to bring attention to incredibly deplorable conditions at a VA hospital in New Hampshire, resulting in two top executives losing their positions, and the conditions are finally being remedied. I am very proud of what he did. It was noble, necessary, and good. If you're interested, here is some of this story:

Good morning :)
We got what I would call a dusting of snow, just enough to mess up the roads. My mom sent me a photo from their house up north and they are getting a blizzard. So I am currently thankful we are not getting that yet. I'm so happy it's Friday!! Nothing much planned. Getting my snow tires on and dinner with friends on Sunday.
QOTD: I think veterans and current service members are so important. No one in my family served but I have several friends who have. Being in school so long it is always very prominent on campus. This year is slightly different with working.
Photo: no photo for me. No one wants to see it. My knuckles had a bit of a fight with a bread knife this week. It was serrated so I have six cuts on one finger and a deeper cut on my second finger. Serves me right for thinking about snacking on bread ;)
Post-op two years, eight months.
Breakfast - protein bar
Snack - turkey sausage, yogurt
Lunch - pepperettes
Snack - cheese and pepperoni
Dinner - pork roast again. That's what we get for cooking the whole thing at once.
Snack - protein shake if needed
All water and vits.
My best knife story was in 2001. We had just bought a new truck and they delivered this awesome basket of cookies etc as a gift. I decided to open the bag of cookies - with a henkles knife I got for our wedding. and cut off the top of my finger. the tip was barely hanging on and I was bleeding all over the place and screaming bloody murder. DH was in shower and thought I was just singing or something. He finally came out and took me to ER. I got several stitches and now i have scars on my finger.
Eeeek. That is horrible!! I'm glad they could stitch it for you.
Mine wasn't that bad, but when it was still bleeding in spots the second day I was afraid I might have to get a couple stitches. I'm more annoyed because the serrations on the blade caused a series of cuts, so my pointer finger has a zebra pattern right now. I just counted... there are eight evenly spaced cuts. Generally speaking when it comes to knife work DH will kick me out of the kitchen because I make him nervous.
Ugh, sorry about your fingers, but I did giggle a bit... instant karma? Hopefully it's not TOO bad!
