What's on your Thursday menu RNYers?
There is no cure.
I remember some nights, I couldn't wait for my son to go to bed. Just so the arguing over every little thing would stop.
We try to mold them into good human beings, but in that phase of life, I said my son was trying to mold me into the mother he wanted me to be. It was a battle of the wills.
Basically they think the world revolves around them, and especially with an only child which I also had it can be difficult. I used to say I had to knock on the box occasionally and say hey the rest of the world is out here. We are a family, it's not just about you.
Good news is if you can hang on it does pass.

Back home from camping again and camper is now winterized. However we have been known to camp anyway by flushing the toilet with antifreeze and carrying water to drink and do dishes. The bathhouse at the state park is open so we can shower there. Lily and I have our walk in--did 4 miles this morning and will do another mile after supper. Accountability was good with no unplanned eating. QoTD Im a terrible gift buyer but this year I have a good gift--cookbooks our church put together as a fundraiser. My MIL will appreciate it because there are 5 recipes in it that came from her mothers recipe box. Post op 5 years 21/2 months and weight at 118 today. Heres the food for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1 c scrambled eggs with cheese D 31/2 oz cheddar brat with 1/2 c green beans S 5 oz greek yogurtvwith 1 T granola for crunch. Have a great day everyone and make smart choices that move you toward your goals!
QOTD: this is a funny one, my siblings and I never give each other anything big for Christmas. A few years ago I gave my brother electric salt and pepper mills. They run on batteries. My family loves a good gadget. So a few months later I was told it was the best gift ever. Not really I'm sure but- ha ha Ha. Then of course there's always The sentimental, the same brother has a huge wine collection. The year my father passed, he passed on Christmas Day so he had sent us all a case of wine for Christmas gifts a few weeks prior. It had a special label with his and his wife's name on it saying merry Christmas. So I still had a few bottles, so I wrapped one up and gave it to my brother, I knew it would create tears. But it was good.
Some of my old Homeschool buddies and I get together several times a year either at a restaurant or ny house we kvetch for hours. So tonight is my house. We do it potluck. I made 2 desserts- both gluten free/sugar free.
Cheesecake is my specialty but my tried and true recipe is huge, so made a Maple Pumpkin cheesecake ...I'll let you know. In the oven now are pumpkin brownies... this is my 4th time making them and they are good. I am going back to ny original variation... so I will confirm if it is the keeper version. They are actually fairly low calorie too. If the cheesecake is a keeper I may make these for Thanksgiving. Only downside to this is sorting the pile of mail that I haven't felt like going through in recovery.
Food: Latte , eggs, chicken stoup, salad
dinner w/friends-stir fry, chicken, fruit above desserts
got in 2 ½ qts water plus ice yesterday- trying
