What's on your Tuesday menu RNYers?
Good morning! Migraine has left the building after last night getting nauseous, throwing up, then sleeping from 7PM until morning. I feel pretty good this morning though.
I have an EGD tomorrow followed by blood work and I'm nervous even though I know there's nothing to worry about. I remember when my husband went to his (his dad drove him since I couldn't get off work because he gave me ONE DAY notice that he was even having the procedure!), and was back home before 10 AM playing video games. This is my last pre-op clearance besides my regular monthly weigh-ins. I'll also be having an IUD placed at some point before surgery.
QotD: the longest road trip for me has been from Sioux City, Iowa (my hometown) to Dubois, Wyoming. My best friends parents live in Dubois, which is near Yellowstone and it's GORGEOUS. We made that trip every spring/summer until a few years ago when she had her daughter and I moved here to Omaha. Now she takes her daughter, but I'd love to go with her again.
breakfast: Greek L&F
lunch: tuna creations packet with lettuce leaves, string cheese, pickled carrots
snack: 3 oz deli turkey
dinner: chicken enchilada soup

You're getting so close! The EGD is a breeze, so try not to be too nervous. You'll be asleep and awake before you know it. (but totally use it as a good excuse to be spoiled for the rest of the day )

Good morning! My bike ride in was a frosty one! I would have walked in but I'm not sure what I've done to my shin. It might be a shin splint, but I've never had one from walking even at my heavy weight. It's also not where I've ever known a typical splint to show up. It's more on the front outer side, and closer to the ankle, just above it. It feels like soft tissue is inflamed, like a bruise right through to the bone, and it made my walk home yesterday and my evening just miserable. Moving my foot, it definitely feels muscular in nature. I'll stretch it out today and see how it goes.
Menu: B: cucumber/cottage cheese/tuna mixed. I also had a meat stick I ate on my bike ride, holding it in my mouth like a cigar. That might explain the weird look I got at a stoplight when I ate my cigar. Hmmm....
MS/AS: 1/2 cup ff greek yogurt, 2 oz mixed fresh berries
L: I brought my wife's homemade chicken noodle soup (heavy on the chicken) but my Dad wants to meet me for lunch. So I'll find something on plan there and go with that.
S: I don't know, but I've seen a roast in the fridge. If THAT rumour is true I'm in!
ES: Decaf and if I eat anything, 2 oz peanuts.
All vites and water
QOTD: I've been out to PEI a couple of times (driving) and out west a couple of times (flying/driving). I used to be a longhaul driver so my longest road trip is hard to remember. I'm taking the family to Myrtle Beach for a week at Christmas this year, and we're driving it. I enjoy road trips (even with the kids' lack of patience) a lot. Driving relaxes me.
Thanks! Whatever's going on I hope it clears up today. For me to go to the doctor it's usually because a limb is falling off (I'm stubborn that way). I'll ice this at work and carry on, but keep an eye on things. What sucks is I can't take an NSAID to help with it, and Tylenol does nothing for me.
Grrr....LOL
