it didn't at first (a couple years ago when I started getting them) but now it seems to amplify them. My doctor said that "rebound headaches" are a known side effect and I don't know if that's quite what I'm getting or not

Has your doctor suggested prescription migraine medicine? That might give you some relief. Not sure how those meds are for post-ops, though.

For many years, my migraines would hit with full fury, forcing me to lie motionless in the dark for hours until I threw up. Then I'd sleep, and when I woke the episode would thankfully have passed. I'd be wiped out, but not in pain. Over the last 10 years or so that I got migraines, they started lasting for much longer. My worst one went on for 5 days. Lying in bed early in the morning on the fifth day, I heard loud banging outside. i listened for a while, then thought, dully, that I hadn't seen any of my neighbors having their roof replaced (because the rhythmic hanging sounded exactly that way). Then I realized that it was awfully early for construction workers to be making noise - but at least, I thought, they weren't playing the radio while they worked. It took me a full half hour to realize that the banging noise was coming from inside my head! You probably know that banging sound, though often it's more of a whooshing sound than a banging. That was the worst migraine ever, but thankfully it was also the last full blown one I suffered. Myfriend Doug, a Physiatrist, upon hearing about that episode, asked me why I hadn't called him? He said he would have come over and "put me under" for a few days until the migraine had blown over. It had never occurred to me to call him. After that that Excedrin migraine formula came on the market, enabling me to circumvent the pain pretty well. I am glad your migraine has flown the coop! They really stink!

I feel for you! I started having migraine headaches in 4th grade and still have them today at age 61. I take a preventative prescription medicine daily, Topomax (Topirimate), and I have a prescription I can take when I get a migraine, Amerge (Naratriptan). I get the vision disturbances that warn me a migraine is on the way, so that helps because if I quickly take my prescription medicine sometimes I can ward them off. Thank goodness for prescription migraine medicine!

I've noticed if I take ibuprofen or aspirin when I first feel symptoms coming on (light sensitivity for me), I still end up with a mean headache, but the rest of the symptoms are much milder and tolerable. I know I shouldn't take NSAIDs after surgery, so I might have to ask my doctor about a prescription. Tylenol never works! I'm not sure I get them frequently enough to merit a prescription though :/ once a month, maybe once every other month

Having a prescription on hand would be a good idea, even if you get migraines infrequently. Since you get warning signs (light sensitivity) it would probably stop the migraine from happening if you took the medicine right away. Amerge really works for me and I can continue on with my day without pain.

The battle of hypoglycemia and the bulge continue. A TWO FRONT war! Whoo hoo!

Coffee.

B1: 1 hb egg, 1/4 cup steel cut oats, 1/2 cup raw pears

B2: Repeat of B1

L1: 2 oz baked cod, 1/2 cup mixed veggies of celery, onion, carrot, parsnip and turnip, 1/2 cup baked beans, 1/4 cup raw pears

L2: Same as L1

D1: Same as L1

I have had to add starches back. In some ways I feel better (my shoulders and head don't feel so heavy)

D2: Same as L1.

Following this new nut's plan, I have managed to lose 2 lbs in a week! My nut warned me that I may gain weight initially, but that hasn't been the case. I have a follow up with her this Friday.

Eating this much is kind of annoying, it is so frequent. However, eating opportunities are so frequent they are now cheap. Eating has always been stressful before and now, but now, I have so many opportunities to eat that if I make a mistake, I still got 5 other eating opportunities to correct it. Crazy...I know.
