Same here, I do not know your surgeon, not from that area.
I had surgery many years ago,in Memphis, when the surgery included an incision from the bottom of rib cage to the pelvic bone.(thats just he external) Many things have changed since then... with that in mind. I have some tips for you.
The best thing you can do is to: Do this for YOU. This is your life and you are worth all effort to be healthy and happy. Setting your mind to that, is where each of us must start. This surgery is not an end all to all weight loss problems but is a tool to assist you on your journey. The procedure your Doctor chooses will give you control... of your diet and life. Treat the results with care.
Keep and make several copies of your post of instructions and the written instructions you get on your check ups. Get everything written! and do your best to follow each instruction given.
As the years pass, your lab values change, and your vitamins and minerals may be adjusted , be sure to record any changes and the reason they were changed with the date.
I would get a variety of protein supplements in small amounts to try, now as part of diet...and use those during early weeks post surgical to make getting in prescribed protein levels and optimize healing.I would not stock anything in large amounts because your tastes will definitely change.
