Hi everyone, happy Thursday!

I was an A student, pretty much, until disaster struck and when I was 14, and seriously derailed me for a few years. My grades recovered, but I was still affected in many ways for a very long while afterwards. My favorite classes up to and throughout college were English, art, philosophy, music, theater, and comparative religion. Later I developed a keen interest in botany, and studied it and related courses (particularly herbal therapeutics and ethnobotany) very intently for several years.

Howdy Everyone!!

QOTD: I had a troubled childhood and ran away from a girls group home at age 15 and hitchhiked to Florida because it was warm there!! Despite a really dysfunctional home life, my early years in school (from elementary to middle school) were great. I was a great student and won lots of competitions, had straight A's etc. School was escapism for me. I did go on get my high school diploma, go to college while working full time and maintained a perfect GPA. Didn't finish college (stopped at year 3) but as an entrepreneur, this has not affected me much since I don't want to be a surgeon or rocket scientist! LOL My children are really smart (my older is a Mensa member since age 4) with an IQ over 140 but he doesn't try hard, has ADD big time. Currently in last year of college. My younger is well adjusted and doing well in school.

Food for today:

Protein shake and lots of coffee 25 grams protein 125 calories

lunch: egg beaters and ham with cheese stick

Dinner: Shrimp with green beans and maybe small arugula salad with 2tb of beets?

Snack: need high protein before gym workout (probably a drumstick?)

Yogurt FF greek with PB powder

Less than 700, 64 ounces water, 90 grams of protein

It is common with kids with high IQs to present like/have ADD. I always had my own education plan which involved additional work and I was in the gifted program in highschool because I was a chatty Cathy and would distract everyone around me if I didn't have the additional/different work to do. My brother was similar but super lazy so he just wouldn't do anything until he was sternly told he had to. Once we were both in programs we we're passionate about in University things changed and it wasn't bad. I am sure your son is finding that in Collage.

Hi ,

Yup, he has been a difficult kid since birth! Special schools, private schools for the gifted but challenged. He could not thrive in public schools and they isolated him and separated him from the class.

QOTD: I was that super nerd jock... Even though I was overweight in highschool (165-180lbs at 5') I was heavily involved on our school sports teams including cross country, rowing, hockey and baseball. I even won awards within the school and my pair partner and I were actually ranked 3rd in Canada. Somehow while doing all these sports and working I still managed to be an honour roll student (even had 2 99% in grade 12). Things changed in University when what we not know was my thyroid finally crashing hard. I was only a B or C student due to difficulty focusing during exams. I interviewed well so obtaining a job post University was not an issue thankfully.

Accountability: my husband had me out and about yesterday so I had my first meal out. I ended up getting a small chilli from Timmies. I had my eggs in the morning but I was so low in protein by the time we got home I thought I could handle a full can of tuna. What a mistake! I still don't feel hungry or full so 30 minutes after finishing my stomach was telling me I had made a huge mistake. Luckily it all passed within an hour/hour and a half. I am going to make sure I stay in my comfort zone of 1/2cupish (I weigh and measure all my ingredients individually) of solid foods from now on

B: slept in for an appointment so grabbed a babybel. Husband is working at my parents house laying new floors and is going to be a little late so I am just pushing back all my meals time wise.

AMS: tall decaf skinny vanilla latte

L: scrambled egg with cheese

PMS: 3 Melba toast with 2 triangles of herb and garlic laughing cow cheese

D: meat cup with feta cheese

Cal: 700 Carb:28g Fat:36g Protein: 61g

All water and vitamins. My 1km walk in the afternoon on my own and evening with my husband and him walking the doggies.
