What's on your Thursday menu RNYers?
Good morning! Nicer walk in this morning than the past few days. I love walking the hour in to work while it's dark. I notice so much on my walks to and from work, that I've left the bike at home as of late.
Menu:
B: cottage cheese/tuna/cucumber mixed up with salt and pepper.
MS/AS: Oikos 000 salted caramel (Mmmmmarrrrghhhlllllllrrlrlrflrlll.........)
L: Chili, plus a musical interlude.
S: Unsure
Last night I got home late and enjoyed a bowl of chili with a small piece of rye/caraway seed toast. That was OK, though I didn't fini**** I think the day was too long, I was beat. Later on I had a decaf and all was well. I think I had almost 200 oz of fluids yesterday. I was in the can a lot, LOL. All vitamins were good.
Accountability: I still haven't eaten any of the Hallowe'en loot. I did have one of my wife's homemade pumpkin chocolate chip oatmeal cookies (a new recipe), about 2" diameter with my decaf. It was decent and certainly different, but I didn't feel the need for another and the rest have now gone to her workplace.
QOTD: I was always a good student in the early grades, solid B's Then around grade 6 I just ramped things up as things clicked more, and it was pretty well A's the rest of the way. My IQ sits at 186 according to the last 3 tests I took, mostly scoring high in math and logic. Oddly enough, I don't like the stress of exams and I never "enjoyed" school. The worst semester (mentally speaking) was back when they still had OAC (13th grade, or the victory lap, for any American readers). I had French and Physics, and I failed physics because I couldn't regain focus after a friend committed suicide. The 2nd semester I enrolled in a 5th course with special permission, and studied the physics textbook at home at night, while taking finite, calculus, algebra and geometry at school. That was a tough semester but I nailed it and moved on to college. Looking back, I think I was nuts to have done that. Jeez
YAY! My weight finally dropped below 145 (my "oh crap" level)! Thank God. Now trying to back down to my original acceptable range, which is 138-142 (I'd been hovering around 143-144 for a month or so before increasing to "oh crap" - which is when the alarm bells finally went off.....). Plan on adding some extra fat again today so I don't get hungry, since that worked like a charm yesterday!
QOTD: I was an A/B student in K-12 but probably could have been all or mostly A's if I'd applied myself. I was pretty lazy. Did better in college. I have two master's degrees. I considered doing a PhD (in European history) at one time but was afraid of ending up in some podunk town out in the middle of nowhere. Been there, done that - no thanks. Figured I'd have more options working in library-land (although that field is pretty closed now, too - lucky I got in when I did..). I've been happy with my career and very happy with my location, so no regrets.
2 years 4 months out:
B: homemade vanilla Greek yogurt, blueberries, pomegranate seeds
S: coffee with half & half, SF pumpkin vanilla protein/Miralax latte shake (with some avocado in it)
L: 1 C cottage cheese with strawberries
D: pulled pork, cole slaw
some celery sticks with peanut butter if I have enough calories left over - or another shake
I have some Quest coconut oil powder that I occasionally add, too (my dietitian said for now, limit it to a couple of times a week since the jury is still out on coconut oil, so that's what I do - I've been doing a tablespoon of avocado on the "off" days (which I just bumped up a couple of days ago to deal with hunger) - so yes - the extra fats totally help!!)
Good morning. Only one meeting today, instead of three, so my day should be easier.
Qotd: I was straight As all the way, until 11th grade when I discovered all sorts of bad for me things. I dropped out of high school. When I was 21, I went on to college and graduated with a 3.9 GPA. I also have a masters degree. My husband jokes that I would be a perpetual student if I could. But I can't. Too expensive!

Your high school life mirrors my own. Ridiculously shy, bookworm, and theater "geek." Nearly failed most math classes :)

Morning all--drive by post. Running around between meetings, as usual... this new job really doesn't give me any wiggle room in my day anymore. I miss you!
Accountability: Ended the day at just over 800 calories and that included a 200 calorie treat at the end of the day. I am happy to say I am in a weird period of not being hungry right now and it is easy to keep calories very low.
Gym tonight for a mile run + stair climber. Dinner TBD.
I miss hearing from you, so post when you can.
