Good morning :)
Yesterday was fun. We had a nice office lunch. I ate the chicken out of the sandwich and saved the salad for my snack. I did have some chocolate. It is my weakness. I followed it up with a protein shake to balance out the carbs ;)
Only two more days of work this week. We are taking Friday off. I can't wait to sleep in and have our little birthday holiday. We are going to a nice restaurant for lunch. We got a gift card like two Christmases ago and just could never make it work, and the dinner menu is too expensive.
QOTD: my biggest temptation is/was chocolate covered almonds. I made myself a promise that I would not eat chocolate covered almonds after surgery because it would be a slippery slope. I could easily eat a huge bag of them. I'm better able to moderate myself with other treats.
Post-op two years, seven months.
Breakfast - oatmeal
Snack - egg, yogurt
Lunch - chicken
Snack - turkey keilbasa
Snack - pepperoni, cheese
Dinner - beef stew
Snack - protein shake if needed
All water and vits.
QOTD: I would have to say potatoes have no place in my life now. I cannot stand the taste now not sure what that is. I will have a fry every blue moon of my dh's but not crazy about it, give me a chicken wing instead and I will pick that bone clean. I have always loved chocolate and peanut butter and marshmallow so those are my weaknesses. i ty to flat stay away from any sugar bread (cake pie, bread)
Food for today:
chicken leftover
HB egg whites
veggies (have cabbage and eggplant and salad still)
not sure on dinner

Hello Teena & Menu peeps! How are you all? Can't believe its November 1st? The days sure fly by. Well I am having surgery tomorrow to remove my gallbadder and I am not going to lie the anxiety is setting in. We have to be up at 4am out of the house at 5am and check in the hospital at 6am, surgery is at 8am. Its day surgery so I should be going home by 1 or 2pm at the latest. Eeek!
Accountability: 100% on plan
QOTD: Foods that tempt me have not changed at all. But. And there is a "but." I was/am a sugar-a-holic. Pre surgery cake, cookies, candy was my thing. After surgery the mere thought of sugar made me ill. I could not stand anything sweet and I ate a lot of savory foods, the more savoury & spicy the better. But by year three my cravings for sugar returned, just like that, its like a switch was turned on. I crave sweets daily and I have to work my butt off to stay away from goodies.

Daisy, wishing you all the best for surgery tomorrow. I know that it will be good to have it taken care of and hopefully it will help you feel better. And yes, it is normal to feel nervous before surgery. Just remember that the end result is good. Take great care and keep us posted on how you are doing. You are always a great inspiration to me and I love hearing from you!

Good luck tomorrow!
My RNY journey began with a bad gallbladder. I asked the surgeon tasked with removing it whether my big, fat abdomen was going to be an issue for him and he basically said " For me not really but for you it eventually will be" The rest, as they say, is history.
The good news is that the surgery was so easy that I agreed to pull the trigger on the RNY. RNY was much tougher.

I hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow! I had mine out 13 years ago and it was a breeze compared to RNY. Wishing you a speedy recovery as well!
