Good morning and Happy Tuesday! Today is pink day at my work and I'm volunteering to help out. They gave out t-shirts and I had an NSV. I always used to worry about getting a shirt big enough. Well for some reason they only had big sizes and the smallest one was a ladies 2x. It's huge on me! I guess I will use it as a pyjama shirt after. I'll take a pic later.

We haven't talked about coffee in a while so what's your preference? Tim Hortons is the big chain here- like it's iconic- part of our national culture lol. I'm not a fan but I still drink coffee from there on a regular basis. My carpool meeting place is in one of their parking lots and my family loves them. However I love Starbucks and Aroma and most other barista shops - to me there is just no comparison. I have switched to decaf and I will have it with one milk. I also love cappuccinos and lattes. Starbucks Cinnamon Dolce Latte with sugar free syrup is another fave. But that gets expensive so it's an occasional treat.

Oh yeah- I found the hair dryer- right where it was supposed to be. Not sure if it was there all along or someone put it back lol. That cabinet is dark and it was in the back.

Accountability- I did okay yesterday. Crab cakes were on the menu for lunch and they're a little higher in carbs but I finished the day well within my target and got my workout done.

Menu:

B: 1 egg with cheese and bacon

L: not sure

D: we have ground beef out and DH wants hamburgers but I haven't committed to that yet. :)

S: Skyr yogurt with a few blackberries and strawberries

patches are on and extra vitamins in my bag.

Weight was 171.2 today. Stupid scale.

Hi Everyone! I am so excited--I get a bonus work from home day, today! I finished a two day project one day early, so I get to stay home and power through about 10 projects that I have started but never finished. I am seriously so excited for this time to get everything done. I hate having unfinished work hanging over my head.

Accountability: Food was good until I remembered the last boxes of Canadian Smarties that Daisy brought me in July. Mmm...Smarties. Well, it took 3 months but we finally finished all of them. No more chocolate anywhere in the house... I also didn't go to the gym. I thought that I was going to be staying with my parents last night but I was able to come home, which added an additional hour+ to my commute. Maybe today. LOL. Aren't I hilarious?

QOTD: STARBUCKS! I am a Massachusetts girl so I have 40 years of Dunkin Donuts coffee running through my veins, but they changed the brew about a year ago and I found it completely undrinkable now :( If I have hot coffee, I have Starbucks Dark Brew, black with Splenda. But Iced Coffee needs milk. I have it with a splash of whole milk and Splenda. I love it but a Venti with whole milk is 70 calories!!! It's only a x1/week treat now.

That's my problem with Starbucks... the calories add up, even when you're being as good as you can be!

I build it in to my calorie count and treat it as a snack. I know it's just a rationalization, but I use the milk to add protein and fluid. I also only will have it on a gym day. Even though I don't "eat back" my calories, I figure the workout gives me a bit of wiggle room and that a latte won't kill me.

Good morning menu folks! Today is the last warm day before it becomes more seasonally cool. I hope to get out and enjoy it a bit at lunch, go for a long walk.

QOTD: I almost always drink my coffee black whether it is from Starbucks or somewhere else. I like their darker brews alot. I frequently have an afternoon blac****d coffee from Dunkin Donuts at work and I keep Starbucks iced coffee at home for work-at-home days. It is a nice treat.

Menu:

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, turkey sausage

Snack: Lemonade protein shake

Lunch: TJ's Balsamic grilled chicken, baby carrots

Snack: 2 oz turkey breast

Dinner: Pork chops, TJ's hodge podge veggies

Exercise: short and long walks

Welcome to Tuesday! It is going to be rainy (and depressing) here the next couple of days. So hard to WFH in these last days (the final 2 work weeks after this one will be the pits). On the crab cake issue, I often eat them when out. I also have a recipe for light ones that I really need to make soon.

QOTD: I actually prefer my coffee at home or the Green Mountain flavored coffee if at a cafeteria. I love vanilla flavored coffee (or pumpkin spice this time of year). Otherwise, it is DD - StarBucks is too strong for me.

1.5 years post-op (maintenance). 12 work days to retirement (11/13).

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: vegetarian chili

D: pulled pork

S: almonds, Halo Top

Here is the recipe (I've had it for a LONG time - pardon the spots!). I've always used dry breadcrumbs or panko (not fresh). And the amount needed to coat them is way less than the amount listed. So the nutrition is a little off.

I love crab cakes too! I haven't made them in eons, because when I do it costs a fortune to feed all four of us with the teens eating a ton when it's something good like crab cakes!

I hear you! That's how we feel about steak - but at least it goes on sale. I'm always jealous of your freezer full of beef.
