Suddenly regurgitating after eating? 4 weeks post op.

I'm 4 weeks post op and, starting a couple days ago, after I eat I start having wet burps and eventually burp the food back up. Not everything causes this, it seems to just be semi-solid foods.

I've been on soft food for a week and it had been fine. I had various types of meat and they all went down fine, until a day or two ago. I'm eating tiny bites and chewing them well, but it feels like it's all just sitting in my throat.

I've gone back to puréed diet because it's just very uncomfortable.

Is it possible that there's an obstruction or blockage?

Are you cutting everything small? I see you say that you are chewing etc. You should call your NUT or your practitioner and see what they say.

I cut everything to about the size of an M&M... takes as long to cut it as it does to eat it. Meals are such a production these days.

I will call the clinic tomorrow, that seems like a good idea.

could be you're advancing your diet too quickly, or it could be you're developing a stricture. They're not uncommon at four weeks out (I had one then...). Eat slowly, chew carefully, maybe go back to puree for a few days, but if it keeps up, call your surgeon. Strictures are easy to fix, if that's what it is.

You are at prime time for a stricture. Call your surgeon tomorrow

I agree with the others. To me it sounds like a stricture. I've had a handful, and this sounds a lot like what I initially experienced. I also had nauseau, felt generally crummy, and eventually couldn't even keep fluids down. I would call your surgeon asap. It's a relatively easy fix.

Like others have said call your doctor. I would stick with pureed till you can see the doctor.

I still have if I eat too fast I get the foamies. But better to be safe than sorry.

Make sure you keep hydrated.
