Calling all AMAW/CAMW PARTICIPANTS!
on 10/21/17 4:04 pm
I was strict CAMAW with my Cs being a protein shake per day and eggs. It was great to reset my carb cravings. The main things I cut out were quest bars, yogurt, and cheese and it was so refreshing to not have to fight myself to not have more yogurt (with sugarfree sweeteners), another piece of cheese, or multiple quest bars per day. I just knew they weren't an option. I actually gained 2lb in the first 2 days and then lost 4lb then back up 1lb! So I'm calling it a loss of 1.5lb for the week. I'm going to continue CAMAW until I stop. Thanks!
Love reading everyone's thoughts on meat week!
as I mentioned yesterday, I didn't get to post much this week, but this challenge is always the wake up call I need to see where carbs creep in!
In terms of the scale, I was all over the place. Low weight was 170, high was 173.5 and today, 171.
So technically, I didn't lose anything, but this is how it's been for me the past couple of months. I can feel a whoosh coming....I hope.... hahhaha
congratulations to everyone who took on this challenge!

Thank you for heading up the AMAW / CAMAW challenge, Teena!
I enjoyed it! It wasn't too hard, although I missed the Atkin's peanut butter cups that I usually eat for my bedtime snack. I started the challenge at 152.6 and ended at 149.0 so a loss of 3.6 lbs. Not bad considering I'm 1 1/2 years out and my weight loss has slowed way down. At one point I was 148.0, but I evidently gained a pound back somehow.
I was very surprised at how high my protein grams were and how low my carbs were. I guess I did eat a lot differently than I usually do. Easy for those carbs to sneak in.
Thanks so much!

Now that's more like what I expected. Officially for the week (I weigh on Sunday normally) down 4.8. I must have been a little constipated on the challenge end day yesterday. I thought it was a little weird I was static since Tuesday. Oh well. I'm not doing this for the glory;)

Thanks to Teena and Liz for running this AMAW/CAMAW week.
I was 129.4 on Monday morning, 126.4 Saturday morning and 125.2 this morning so I did well considering that I'm almost at goal.
I enjoy these weeks of focusing on meat, and it is a reminder that carbs in general are not my friend.
That said, I'm not sure whether I will do the next one, because I miss my veggies too much. I don't have a real problem with removing the starches from my diet, but I miss the green veg. That may sound strange, but I like the way that I feel with some good greens in my diet and it helps to keep things moving too. I will have to see how my diet is by the time that another meat week comes around.
Congrats to all the participants!

So Sorry! I never get on the computer on weekends either so didn't see this. I'm very excited about the results of last week's CAMAW.
Starting weight 159.4
Saturday weight 156.1, a loss of 3.3 in 5 days is wonderful.
Today's weight, while still doing mostly CAMAW, with some veggies, 153.9! YAY. 4 more pounds and I will, once again, be a "normal" weight.
It was a great experience, and gave me a wake up call to change how I was eating, and reset my carb meter.
