What's on your Tuesday menu RNYers? And AMAW/CAMAW day 2!
Morning!
Camaw is going well for me! But I totally over estimated how much meat I could eat. I could only eat 2 oz of turkey and 2 oz of chicken and half of my yogurt. Lol. And by the end of the night I was stuffed. Lol.
QUOTD: I have a hard time actually waking up, but once I'm up I'm up. I tend to be very chipper and motivated in the morning, but I love to hit that snooze button.
M:
- Protein Coffee
- Chicken Bone Broth
- Egg Salad
- Chicken 2 oz
- Cheese whisps
- Cheese curds
- turkey 2 oz
- babel cheese
Total: cal 625, 74 G protein, 31 g fat, 12 g carbs
Hi menu friends,
Day 2 of CAMAW, not sure how long I'll stick it out as it's bringing back pre op feelings of being on a diet that I don't like.
QOTD: Totally NOT a morning person, and never have been except for a 4 year period of time when I lived on a waterfront property and enjoyed waking up to watch the sunrise over the river every morning. I'd bring my coffee/hot chocolate out on the dock and really enjoyed myself. As soon as I moved though, I went back to being a night owl. I typically stay up until 2 or 3 AM. My parrot tries to wake me up early by calling "Kathy, good morning! Kathy, come here!" but I usually just tell her good morning and go back to sleep, lol.
So, I was 186.8 yesterday 184.6 this morning, which is great, but I was 185 all last week, including the day before starting CAMAW, so I think it's only really a 0.4 Lb loss. Either way, I'll take it. I'm not sure if I'll continue with CAMAW, but I normally eat low carb anyway so if I don't it's not a big deal. I'm not liking the diet mentality that the challenge is bringing. I think it's great that so many of you are able to participate without your brain going wonky like mine is.
Menu at 8.5 months post op:
Breakfast: 2 cups decaf with premier protein, pepperette, cheese string
Lunch: 1 egg omelette with cheese and bacon
Supper: Not sure, but it will be protein, possibly a burger patty.
Snacks: herbal tea with premier protein, Greek yogurt
Pre-Op Visit: Jan. 10, 2017, weight 304, surgeon: Dr. David Lindsay, St. Joe's, Toronto
1st Day of (3 weeks worth of) Optifast: Jan. 11, 2017
Surgery Date: Feb. 1st, 2017
Kathy
You definitely have to do what's best for your head! I try to look at it as a carb detox and actually eat more calories at main meals then usual (which keeps me more full because of the protein). Adding cheese helps my head feel like it isn't a diet too.

Good afternoon,
I have bursitis in my hip, told to stop what was causing it for the week so no steps for me. Also have to ice it and do these stretches exercises.
Qotd not a morning person at all. It takes awhile for me to wake up and have my coffee.
B egg mcmuffin and string cheese
L tuna, cottage cheese and honeycrisp apple
D cheesy chicken chili and coleslaw
Have a wonderful day
Good morning and happy Tuesday. I've been having some serious RH issues and my weight is up as a result (I'm eating more to counteract the RH), so there's that. As a result, I'm doing a modified CAMAW.
TQOTD: I'm not a super morning person as I don't like getting up much before 5:30-6. However, once I'm up, I'm good. I am more of a night owl, I guess.
My plan:
B: 4.3 oz chicken thigh meat
L: 4.5 oz NY strip steak
D: Pork chop (between 4-4.3 oz), likely a small scoop of spinach salad
S: SF latte, 4 oz of shrimp with a tbs of ****tail sauce before the gym
E: tonight is spin
LET'S GO DODGERS!!!!
Good morning!
First day of CAMAW went well, no cheating and stayed on plan. Was down 3 pounds this morning, but this is from re-starting my water goal for the first time in months...I'll take it though:-)
QOTD-I wake between 5-5:30, but am not a morning person. I need a lot of hours to get my bones moving. I usually feel good by 11am or so and get my energy spurts later in the day.
B-1/4 cup Greek yogurt w/2tsp SF lemon pudding(Edited to add-pudding mix only)
L-Scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese
S-Chai tea w/vanilla protein shake
D-Chicken wings and cottage cheese
W&V-on track
E-Hike with dog
Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Hi everybody! Happy Tuesday!
Yesterday, although I didn't post, I did fine and stayed on plan, eating CAMAW - as I have since I started having actual food, post-op! Since this is literally how I always eat, I don't know if I will see much loss. But I can always hope! I'm still quite stalled. Today is Oct. 17, and I've only lost 2 pounds since Oct. 1! This despite a caloric intake often below 500 and virtually never over 600. But I have been forcing myself to drink more water. I think my stall has partially been due to insufficient H2O. I also decided to eat less deli meats. They are easy to eat because they're soft, but they tend to be high in sodium, etc. which may also be affecting the scale. So today I'm stopping at the grocery store for some fish and some chicken thighs.
I picked up an air fryer and look forward to it's maiden voyage - i will make salmon fillets.
Today I have a follow up visit with the nurse at my surgeon's center. I'll see if she has any suggestions about upping my rate of loss. I'm not going to get into describing my virtually all meat diet, however!
QOTD: If left to my own devices, I had always been a night owl. Following surgery my sleep schedule was completely messed up, and I do mean completely. It has finally seemed to stabilize, and I am waking relatively early and going to sleep early. It feels good.
First: Cappucino protein drink
B: BBQ pulled Chicken
L: Tilapia
D: Salmon in the air fryer!
S: if necessary for protein levels, another shake or some Greek yogurt
Wishing you all a lovely day!

CAMAW day 2: Up on the scale
QOTD: I've never been a morning person. I need to sit around and veg for a long time before I want to do anything. That was hard when I needed to be at work by 6am. These post-work days, I don't like to commit to anything before 10am. I will, but I don't like it!
B - eggs, bacon, coffee
L - steak kabob
D - steak kabob
S - string cheese
Good morning everyone,
First day of CAMAW was good, no cheats. Although, the carb monster did call me several times. My son was eating Blue Bell ice cream and I could barely hear the TV over the evil ice cream. Those of you who live in Texas will understand the the Blue Bell Devil
QOTD: NOT a morning person. I would rather stay up all night to complete a task than wake up early to get it done.
CAMAW - 9 months since RNY - lost 1.4 yesterday - weight today is 178.4
B: Cafe Bella Protein Coffee
L: Pork Loin
S: Deli Turkey
D: Chicken Thighs
S: Beef Jerky
Cal-644, Pro-106, Carbs-16
Vitamin patches are on
Make it a GREAT Day!
