What's on your Monday Menu/ AMAW CAMAW Challenge day1!
Morning!
Well I just weighed myself for the first time in a few weeks and I am hoping this week will help me to lose some pounds. :( I never did reach my goal so maybe this will jump start it for me.
My Menu looks something like this:
B: protein drink
S:plain yogurt
L: small can flavoured tuna; protein shake
S: 1/4 cup plain almonds
Dinner: not planned just yet but most likely will be chicken.
Just wondering as my bf told me this isn't a very healthy way to eat, any suggestions as to what I say to that? I told him it is just for a week, but he doesn't think I should be doing this.
Have a wonderfully sunny Monday.
Hmmm I am not a dietician so I can't speak to it...but I do know from experience that when I cut out the white sugar/white flour/crap carbs (which are DEFINTIELY not healthy to eat!) by doing high protein/no carb for a week, it resets my body to not crave the crap. Once the week is over, you can start to incorporate some healthy carbs in like sweet potatoes or a low carb wrap or a salad, but let's be honest, I didn't get to 350 lbs eating sweet potatoes and salads! It was bread, pizza, noodles, chips, rice, etc that were my downfall. So for me personally, eating low carb for a week resets the body to not crave the junk as much :) Just my two cents!
Most people look at our daily calories and say the same thing - how can you survive on such low calories- but we are different than the rest of the population. It is only 5 days, and you're taking vitamins to supplement any deficiencies. Good luck this week! We are happy to have you on board!

Happy Meat Week Everyone,
QOTD: There is a festival in Woodstock, CT that we always go to the weekend after Columbus Day (this past weekend) then we usually apple pick but no one in the family is eating apples this year so we skipped that part.
Accountability: Had a very stress filled weekend with family issues and my eating was ok but included protein bars and protein chips which I usually only save for emergencies. I guess this weekend qualified unfortunately. I'm hoping I can manage the CAMAW this week with all that is going on.
12.5 months out from surgery, weight is 125.1 today. CAMAW Maintenance diet
B: coffee with premier protein and sf torani, prosciutto and mozz roll
L: grilled chicken tenders
D: sirloin steak
S: prosciutto and baby bell

QOTD: We live in "apple country" and every few years attend the nearby National Apple Harvest Festival - lots of crafts vendors, music, and FOOOOOODDDDD which leads me to accountability.
Accountability: Funnel Cake at said Apple Harvest Festival along with some other really poor food choices led me to a wake up call when I stepped on the scale this morning. Back on track today with tracking, weighing/measuring and cutting the carb monster out of my life again!
B: Protein coffee
L: 4 oz. deli turkey
S: Premier protein clear strawberry (don't really like it but I ran out of my usual yogurt)
D: 3-4 oz roast beef (and none of the mashed potatoes that I'll make for DH)!
S: beef jerkey if I can't make it through the evening.

Good morning. All excited for my carb free week.
We do have a fall tradition of going up to Door County Wisconsin. We just got back from there a week ago. We love going up around this time as the crowds are calmer for a tourist destination and the fall colors are so beautiful. This year we took the dogs up with us and rented a converted barn house. OMG it was the best time. The house sits on 8 acres. The dogs went leash-less all week and we had a fire in the firepit one night. We all (including the pups) had a great time. The house had everything we could possibly need, and I mean everything. I sat out on the deck each morning with my decaf coffee and threw the ball to my dogs. Each night I read and listened to my Bluetooth radio. The best part is that I got back into reading and now have spent the last 45 minutes of my day reading. My wife says it's not really reading since I'm into the Walking Dead series. But I'm enjoying it. Oh and the day we got back from Door, we adopted dog #3. So I guess I officially have a herd! She's so beautiful and adds so much energy to the house.
B - leftover eggwhite omlette from yesterday;
S - Fage plain yogurt, pumpkin seeds
L - Leftover salmon and my small green salad for Coumadin control
S - Syntrax trial pack flavors. I decided to branch out with Syntrax and purchased the OH special offer. I tried the Grapefruit flavor yesterday. OMG I loved it. It will be nice to branch out from Lemon Ice Tea and Fuzzy Navel, as those have been my go-to flavors since surgery. Maybe today I'll try lemonade.
D - Turkey lunch meat - low sodium; slice of cheese (purchased while we were at the cheese specialty store in Door County)
S - Aldi popsicles SF
