My largest incision is draining
I had to call my surgeons answering service. Waiting for call back. My largest incision had been draining for a few weeks. He told me to change bandage twice a day and keep it clean. It was mostly clear. Now its draining more and ***** pink to light red. Figured blood. Also have another opening in incision line that re opened. It is hard around incision and has been slightly hard. A couple inches away from incision site it swollen and hard, also tender to touch. I don't know if having him paged was me worrying more than I should. I don't know.
If they won't see you first thing tomorrow, tell them you are going to the ER. Then go.

I had very similar happen, but for not as long. I was able to email a pic of the site/ooze to the nurse and she was able to tell me it wasn't So dire as to go to the ER, but did bring me right in the next day. They put me on a string antibiotic and that was it

I was draining for a couple of weeks as well but they saw me right away to evaluate and it was fine. If they can't get you in tomorrow go to the er as grim said

Don't EVER feel bad about advocating for your health. No one will advocate or be as interested in your welfare and health as YOU.
You could potentially have an infection. Infections aren't something to goof around with. Since the fluid is no longer clear and is bloody, I would be concerned at least 4 out of 10 (10 being freaked out).
Do as Grim says...He needs to get you in and evaluate it. It may be something as simple as HIM draining the incision with a syringe. If he cant see you, go to the er.
At least by seeing him, you get peace of mind.

Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
Thank you for the advice. My surgeon told me to come in to his office at the hospital tomorrow. I also think I may also be dehydrated. I have trouble keeping certain food down also. It's odd I can eat something earlier in the day and try it later and I bring it up and then can not keep anything down for a while. I use to be able to get all my water in. It's get harder when vomiting starts.
Went to see Surgeon he gave me local and numbed the swollen hard area and took 2 big syringes of blood and puss out. Friday he will take me in the OR to open it up and drain and clean it.
I'm glad it's being taken care of.
