Is soup a no-no? I'm confused.
Sounds good. Not a lot of protein but there is such a thing as plain protein powder that you can add to a lot of things. The trick is you can't add it to hot liquid. It'll clump up horribly.
I purchased some cinnamon crunch protein powder and plan to mix it with canned pumpkin for a dessert/treat.

If you're just out, I wouldn't eat any soup with large chunks. I would also stay away from tomato because of the acidity. Keep an eye out for the sugar and sodium as well. There are soooo many soup options at the grocery store now.

This will depend a lot on how you react to foods, and how your hunger i****ting you right now. Soup is a "slider" a food that rapidly moves through your pouch and doesn't stick around long enough to make you feel full. If you know that you'll eat when you feel empty and/or hungry, soups could cause you to eat too many calories right now. I'm more of an "eat when it's time for a meal" kinda person who doesn't tend to go looking for food just because I'm feeling empty. I utilize the slider foods to get in my protein when I otherwise wouldn't be able to fit the extra calories into my day.
For me, I can use soups, stews, curries etc to slid in more good foods without worrying so much about following it up with an extra snack or meal. I love hearty winter soups! This winter I'm planning on making some ham-bone bean soups with lots of ham, and my favorite African curries with a pumpkin base. My only worry is the desire to eat them with a chunk of crusty bread Since I don't buy bread, and I'm no longer baking bread, I should be safe!
